The trip consisted of a flight over the Nazca Lines. The plane was quite small so everyone had a window seat and the pilot flew over every "picture" twice to ensure people on both sides had an excellent view. Perhaps not a good idea if you're a nervous flyer but I enjoyed it immensely.

These islands are known for their many caves and arches that serve as shelter to more than 1500 species of marine birds and a large number of sea lions.
Given I’d been to the Galapagos I was a little skeptical and hadn’t planned on doing the trip but I’m so glad I did. It was only short and truly beautiful ! Lots of bird life, sea lions, penguins and views ! Really nice trip, short and really cheap !

If you are travelling on a cruise and passes through Paracas, don't miss this opportunity and visit the Ballestas islands. This tour is for all visitors who are landing at San Martin Port where you can enjoy a half day trip around the beautiful Islands. You will be able to spot thousands of marine species such as, penguins, sea lions, sea birds, dolphins and many other species.
It was a privilege to visit these islands by boat early in the morning. Our trip left from the hotel jetty. We had a chance to see the Nazca "candelabra " up close which was a nice add on to our flight over the Lines a few days before. The islands of course are brimming with bird life and the boat was able to get quite close to the cliffs to watch them.Quite bizarre having a tiny Humboldt penguin and an enormous pelican in the same photo! There is plenty of opportunity to see the sea lions basking…there are hundreds of them, including babies. The history of this place is interesting too. At one time the value of the Guano ( bird poo) was worth more as a fertiliser to the Peruvian economy than gold! No-one is allowed to land on the islands apart from the wardens who stay there for three months at a time. They are a protected site. I have not been to the Galapagos islands, but my trip to Ballestas must surely have been nearly as good?

Atrévete a descubrir las profundidades y secretos del Cañón de los Perdidos, un majestuosos atractivo ubicado en el distrito de Santiago y a casi 2 horas del centro de Ica.
A really nice experience deep into the desert, we were alone. We went with a private car and driver arranged by our Huacachina hotel. A beautiful natural site that will for sure get more popular in the coming years, I think you should go ASAP if you want to enjoy the exploratory feel of the tour!

We stopped here on a day trip from Lima, and unfortunately we only had a short time to visit, but it was absolutely worth it. I mean, IT'S AN OASIS. I've never seen anything like this in person, and it's exactly what you'd see in a movie. There's a lagoon surrounded by trees, park, promenades, and shops. And the oasis is surrounded by sand dunes, which you can climb to get an overall view and terrific photos. Besides shopping, eating, drinking, and lounging, there are paddle boats on the lagoon and plenty of dune buggy and sand boarding outfitters. I expect it would be a nice place to spend a day or two. But just for the novelty of it, don't pass by without at least a short visit.

Worth a visit. We found that going with a guide worked for us. There are only about 3-4 restaurants inside the reserve. There is a fee to enter the park. I can't remember how much exactly (maybe $10 for 2 adults and 1 child) but definitely bring some cash for the entrance fee.

Take a free tour and taste the Pisco & wines of the area at this winery & Distillery, which also has a Very Old Lagar to stomp the grapes,a very old Falca for Pisco Distillation (150 Years Old ) Traditional Restaurant and Tasting Room with a Cave full of Wine.
The guide made us visit the winery where he showed us how they make their different wines still in a artisanal way. After that we did a tasting. He did his best with talking english and amused us a lot with his jokes. Recommend !

If you go to Ica, the Huacachina desert oasis and village is a must to do, to visit this amazing lagoon in the middle of the desert and climb up the sand dunes. One can also ride dunes buggies or go sand boarding. It’s a fun visit, there are also restaurants and shops around the lagoon to just hang out for the day.
