The Pier at Hermosa Beach is well worth the walk! A great place to stroll, people watch, surf watch and enjoy the beauty of the Pacific Ocean. Just off the strand and lots of restaurants and shops. Hermosa Beach and the Pier were wonderful!

Walked the Strand one night, both north and south of the pier. It was nice, pleasant, and safe. Lots of nice beach houses to admire while walking the Strand.
Keep in mind that the City of Manhattan Beach has a very strict ban on smoking in ALL areas except inside a private home, certain hotel rooms, and in moving cars. That means no smoking outdoors, even on the beach, pier, Strand, etc.

This is still my favorite beach in Southern California after all these years! It’s clean and family friendly, with gorgeous views of the Palos Verdes Peninsula and beautiful sunsets. Great for surfing, sitting in the sand, playing some sports, bringing kids, splashing in the waves, etc. You can also enjoy a nice walk or bike ride along the strand (concrete path). There is metered parking along Esplanade, or you can find parking along a street nearby like one of the avenues. There are many fun restaurants and shops either in the Riviera Village around Avenue I or up north at the Redondo Beach pier. You won’t regret visiting this fabulous beach!

Twice bought shirts at Nordstrom, but couldn’t find a jacket. My friend found bargains for a 10 month old granddaughter at Macy’s. Dined at night twice in Brio (I think) Italian restaurant and had lunch in Nordstrom’s 2nd level cafe with a heated patio. There is also a separate Barnes & Noble bookstore between the Street and parking lot that is open late.

The Automobile Driving Museum (ADM) is a destination for anyone who loves cars and the role they have had in our lives. The ADM and its devoted Docent Volunteers are dedicated to providing our guests with an up-close and personal look into the lives of the original owners of our fleet. Every Sunday, we take our guests for a ride in one of our cars for a trip back in time. When planning an unforgettable event, think of the ADM as THE spot...your guests will never forget.
What makes a museum top dog? There is a lot of competition for where to go on the weekends. The difference here is passion. They love their museum, the cars, and the space. There is always something going on, car shows, food trucks, kid activities. They also have a ice cream parlor and popcorn for the kids. Our kids love going on the weekend, Especially when the hot wheels show is going on.

Was at the pier one night in September just before sundown. There are signs that state the city law that prohibits smoking in the city and even on the pier. At the far end of the pier was someone smoking. This pier is just a plain pier, with only the little aquarium at the far end. What could've been a nice quiet sunset walk out over the water was spoiled by this inconsiderate smoker.
It was too late to see the aquarium as it has limited hours.
Smokers take note and non-smokers rejoice:
The City of Manhattan Beach only allows smoking in private homes, certain hotel rooms, and in moving cars.
SMOKING IS PROHIBITED in ALL public places and that includes ALL outdoor areas such as outside of buildings, sidewalks, streets, open spaces, the beach, pier etc.
The City of Hermosa Beach, next door to the south, also has a strict ban on public smoking.

We had a good walk around the pier and looked at the restaurants and fish shops. It is easy to park here underground.

What a great part! There is so much to do here and even a farmers market next door. Went hair for a one year old's birthday party complete with a train ride! If I lived here I would be here all the time!

Cute beach town with a variety of expensive boutiques and nice cafes. Beach itself is lovely. Parking can be difficult - not many spaces and some are only for 2 hours, which may not be enough for a proper tour. Close to LAX so good place to pass time.

I ride past this beach quite often as it parallels a nice bike path from PV to Marina Del Rey. The beach is nice, but as I said it is not very deep from pavement to waters edge. Therefore, it can get quite crowded. Is is also sad that the city charges you to park in the lot/structure.
