A 5,000-acre park that was the scene of two major Civil War battles.
This is just a wonderful place. It has a walking tour for the 1st Battle of Manassas, and a driving tour of the 2nd battle. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

Housed in a mansion that dates from the 18th century, visiting The Winery at La Grange is the perfect opportunity for you to escape your busy day. The Winery is easily accessible from route 66 in Northern Virginia, as we are only 40 miles from Washington, D.C. Our sprawling 20 acres include more than 8 acres of vineyards and with plenty of space for picnics, parties, weddings, or simply a romantic getaway for two.
The Winery at La Grange just inside of Haymarket, VA is a great Saturday or Sunday afternoon visit.
Plenty of shade, live music, food, area for kids to play, just an all in all beautiful relaxing property.
Our tasting rep this past Sunday was Bria. Bria was great! Very helpful and thorough on explaining all the wines.
The property itself is a beautiful 19th century residence/estate. It's impressive just to walk the property and feel the history. All the better to have a glass of wine in hand and good food too.
This is our third or fourth visit to La Grange. We'll be back for sure!

Pearmund Cellars is located in the beautiful foothills of eastern Fauquier County, VA in close proximity to Northern Virginia and Washington, DC. Our 7500-square-foot geothermal winery and 25-acre vineyard produces Chardonnay, Viognier, Riesling, Late Harvest Vidal, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Ameritage, and other award-winning Virginia wines. At Pearmund Cellars, we are all about educating wine enthusiasts about Virginia Wine! We offer custom tours that teach our customers about: The Grapes – planting, trellising, harvesting The Wine Making Process – from vine to bottle The Barrel Room – the aging process and our unique barrel stacking systems (which we introduced to the East Coast). Join us for a day to remember!
Nothing brings out divisiveness like kids. Pearmund just changed their family friendly policy on weekends. No kids allowed. Oh and no coolers too. So far, dogs are still okay. The thing I always loved about Virginia wineries and Pearmund is that they are family friendly. It's an opportunity to spend an afternoon out in the Virginia countryside sharing a bottle of wine, having a picnic, and relaxing. We live in a very high stress environment in NoVa. Everyone should drink responsibly, families in tow or not. Pearmund was perfect for families with a creek, beehives, a swing, cornhole, and even a box filled with balls and stuff. Not sure how enforceable the cooler thing will be but they want you to buy their meats and cheeses as well as food from the occasional food truck. Change is always difficult and this decision will be cheered or not. People will judge each other and think themselves smarter, cleverer, and/or a better parent. I'm sure Pearmund weighed their decision and based it on their bottom line. We won't be going back and cancelled our club membership. They were unfazed so I'm sure they are confident in their decision. On a side note Wegman's sells their wine cheaper at least until they note it in this review.

Cradled in the foothills of the Bull Run Mountains, adjacent to over 5,000 countryside acres of the Manassas National Battlefield Park, you'll find our historic property specializing in artisanal wine tasting experiences. The Winery at Bull Run transports you to the 1800s in an authentic Virginia farm setting that values American history and hospitality. Visit us and enjoy the cultural heritage of a Virginia past and the award-winning wines of the present. As the closest winery to Washington, D.C., we are conveniently located in Fairfax County, Virginia, less than a half hour from DC and only 2 miles off Interstate 66.
We tried this winery last weekend for the first time, in part because of its close proximity to Washington. The Winery boasts an extensive tasting area, plus high and low tables for more extended wine tasting and light snacks. The grounds of the winery include vines for the winery’s Norton grapes, picnic tables, and additional space for special events such as weddings.
The wines in our tasting ranged from good to very good, and the staffers with whom we spoke were friendly and responsive.

Food prices even decent. The parking! What can I say...bring a porta pot and after concert snacks and just look at the stars!

This is my go to movie place. Took the boys (5 and 6) and had a great time. They serve alcohol now though I don't know that I'd partake. If a soda is 7 bucks I can't imagine what booze costs!

Old Bust Head Brewing Company is named for a rural crossroads in the rolling hills of Fauquier County, Virginia. The locals who dubbed the corner ‘Bust Head’ enjoyed not only the potent libations brewed there, but also a little good humor. Some say the nickname came about when a neighbor fell off his horse after ‘overindulging’ at the corner shop one evening. Others say the locals who drank there were partial to Saturday night fights, or that they just fell down and busted their heads on the rough old country road. One thing is certain, Bust Head was a place that brought folks together in good spirits and built community—and that’s what we hope to do here at Old Bust Head Brewing Company. While we're serious about the art of crafting exceptional beer, and about our passion for the environment, we endeavor—like the folks who raised the glass at the first Bust Head—to keep things playfully in perspective and make life a bit more enjoyable for all of us.
My spouse and I decided to visit OBH, after hearing about how awesome this Brewery was from a friend! We are from Hampton Roads, Virginia, so we stayed at my grandfathers cabin in Louisa and just made a weekend trip out of it! Vint hill was having a festival the day we arrived and we decided we would go to the brewery and then the festival however, this amazing place had other things in store for us! Upon entering they have a dog friendly, beautiful terrace outside sitting area! When you walk into the front door, we were flabbergasted at how Big their tap room was! There was a long line, that we hopped right into! There was a room off to the left side of the entertainment stage that looked to be holding a wedding of some
Sort! Super cute! We get to the counter and immediately we're greeted with enthusiasm! We ordered one small flight of misc. and found a standing round table to enjoy them on! We could'nt believe how awesome they were, so we hopped back into the long line for another flight of different brews! Then after finishing that flight and loving it, we decided we needed more, and yet again hopped back into line! At this point we decided to sign up for a tour, as we wanted to learn more! We started to get very hungry and thought about going to the festival next door, until we noticed some people with food. We politely asked them where they got it and to our surprise they have a whole food truck area in the back of the tasting room with tables and chairs outside etc! "The French guy" was the foodtruck there that day and oh my goodness with was so amazing!! When we first got it the chicken looked a little dry(which I hate), but the look on my spouses face when he took his first bite, made me anxious to try! That was the single most delicious sandwich I've ever eaten! The chicken was sooooo juicy it was indescribable! At the this time we realize we will prob miss our tour unless we choke our food down, which we didn't want to do! so we signed up for the next one 2 hours later! What was supposed to be a half day retreat for us, ended up being a
Whole day of amazement! After relaxing, talking, buying gear, and drinking we went on our tour, where Kevin was informative! I love how environmentally friendly OBH is! We were wowed by their equipment etc! Everyone was so kind(Kevin, Jeremy, Mark, etc). The Brew is the best I've ever had! Seriously so good! It's very rare that I like every beer on tap that a brewery provides, but I feel in love with OBH! I also got my hands on their raspberry and Margarita sours and omg!! Me or my guy are not really sour(goes) fans but we loved these! Good job OBH! Keep up the amazing work. You haven't been around for to long, but you will thrive!!!! Thanks for an amazing weekend, with amazing beer! We are def spreading the word down where we live!

We were staying with relatives in Bristow and it only took about twenty minutes to leave civilization and reach the park. It was not crowded at all on a Tuesday. They have different levels of trails that are relatively well marked. We chose the moderate one and it was very nice. I would definitely go back next time we visit this area.
