The Parc de la Folie Saint-James is a 1.8-hectare park, homes work of French landscaping done around 1770 - 1790. The park is close to the Bois de Boulogne and is in Neuilly sur Seine (92200). This park was recently renovated/restored. The Hauts-de-Seine department, which owns it since 1 April 2011, had set up a restoration program to preserve the history of the site, and in particular the presence of the historic traces of the Anglo-Chinese gardens of 18th century. The restoration work began in April 2015 for a period of one year. This is a nice park for a family walk, like many others that are big or small in this area. Note that, even though officially the restoration work was over several months ago, there is still ongoing work. To add to this, there are major road works on Avenue de Madrid currently.

Whilst this is a bit of a journey from the other tourists attractions it is well worth a visit for the views. It is in La Defense which is commercial / business area. There is a shopping centre near by and places to eat and drink. You get to the viewing gallery by a glass lift which goes up the middle of the arch. Before you go outside there is a good exhibition which explains the history a s building of the arch. The viewing galley gives excellent views across the city and you can get good photos of the Eiffel Tower. The viewing gallery has now for sun loungers so you can sit and relax whilst enjoying the view. There is a cafe and gift show. I have visited before and would do so again just for the views. There are also excellent views of the arch itself from the steps either side where you can sit and relax or people watch !

happened across this museum as the poster advertising the current exhibition was next to my hotel. A wonderful permanent collection of Art Deco design and Landowski sculptures, and a marvellous temp exhibition of a luxury French ocean liner form the 1920s.
