Savannah's picturesque historic district brings the traditional southern atmosphere to life.
Savannah is one of the prettiest city's that we have visited. Lots of history with beautiful old homes, buildings, squares and cemeteries. First thing we did was take an old town trolley tour. We think that $33.00 for one day is too expensive, (2 days is $46.00), but you can hop on and off at 15 stops. We did the same tour in St. Augustine and the cost per day is only $23.00 or $28.00 for 2 days. Would be nice if the cost was the same in all cities that they operate in. We also took a 45 minute caleche/horse drawn carriage ride and a riverboat cruise. There are some great restaurants to be found and your days will be full of great sites to visit. We want to come back again.

My two boys (5 and 2) spent two hours here last October and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. There was plenty to see - check out the website for all of the animals. Wagons can be cheaply rented from the front desk which was ideal for my 2 year old who would have struggled to walk the whole way. I particularly liked the diversity of the refuge and the boardwalk out into the everglades. Baby crocs are kept in the museum shop in the main building. My boys liked seeing the babies up close. Overall, a great visit for any family with kids. We will certainly visit again on our return to Savannah next year.

Official source for information on everything there is to do and see around Georgia. Open 7 days a week.
This is by far the BEST Rest Area/Welcome center I have ever stopped at. Then I never would of thought about reviewing a Welcome Center. Most Rest Areas/Welcome Centers are dirty, crowded, unappealing and sometimes scary. This is brand new and absolutely beautiful. It's been a long time coming but well worth the wait. We travel I-95 quite often and only having portables at this stop has been difficult. The building is lovely on the outside but once you step inside it has a museum like quality. It feels like you are walking through a Georgia forest with Forrest Gump. I love the information available, the people that work there and all the displays. The bathrooms are shiny clean and wash and dry your hands at the same time. Seating inside with plenty of room to stretch and take a break from the intense heat. If only they had an inside area for pets. Outside is also clean with swings and picnic area. Plenty of parking. I hope they keep the area clean and sparkly as it is now and it doesn't end up as just another rest stop.

I have been here two times, and it is incredible. The beers are delicious! You can't go wrong with their winning pilsner. My favorite is the Farm'rd Session IPA, which is brewed with local Thai basil, satsuma, and citrumelo oranges.
They offer appetizers, salads, Sliders, and flatbreads. I enjoyed the warm, soft pretzels with stone ground mustard. They also offer a cheese plate and antipasto plate.
Shea is the senior bartender and provides excellent service. If you are traveling from elsewhere, he can tell you everything about the area, as he is a local. Put River Dog Brewing Company on your list of local establishments to support. You won't be disappointed!

The historic Rose Hill Mansion, known as the most beautiful plantation house in the Low Country, has long held a treasured place in Southern history. Originally built in the late 1850s by planter and physician, Dr. John Kirk and his wife Caroline, the plantation was a wedding present from Caroline's father, James Kirk. Work was halted by the Civil War, and while occupied through the years, the interior was not completed until 1946, when new owners John and Betsy Gould Sturgeon finished it in grand style. In 1980, the Welton family purchased the land and the house was later listed in the National Register of Historic Places. In 1987, a fire devastated the house & it sat in a state of ruin until purchased and restored by The Middleton White Foundation. After a decade long restoration, the home is now shared with the public each day, via guided history tours.
The outside of the house is breathtaking with the massive trees flowing Spanish moss. Normally I would not tell someone to go to the bathrooms but they are both so neat and unusual. The tour is so much historical information. The current owners are beyond kind to let you come into their home. Robin came down after the tour and talked among us. She was a delight.

My husband and I wanted to take a conceal and carry class. This is the place to go!!
Ed Soto and his staff are awesome. Ed is so very conscientious and stresses safety above all else. The classroom setting was very conducive to asking questions and learning. Everything was very well explained with many examples of possible situations. And again, while qualifying in the range, once again, safety was paramount. I would without any doubt highly recommend Palmetto Indoor Range!

Familys were enjoying this park in a big way. They were barbecuing, picnicking, and enjoying the out doors, In addition there are lovely fishing spots and "Secret " scenic picnic tables through out the park. The hiking trails in Sergeant Jasper meander through pine forests and wetlands teaming with water fowl. Just a visual delight.
You can see from the many pictures posted by previous reviewers that there is plenty to do here.
There is even a championship disk golf course on site.
A good place to spend a day or a few hours. I have been here about ten times.

I'm an avid golfer and like to play plenty while I'm here. This place saved my golf week. Best greens of any of the golf we played in HHI. Wide fairways but has the length and enough marsh/water if you need a challenge. It's almost all the way to 95 but worth the trip. Super friendly staff. I'd play again.

I looked and looked, but never could find it, only to find out it is on the other side of the Dunkin Donuts restaurant building. Very busy place. Must be adequate. Right off the Highway 278 exit coming to or from Savannah.

Visited for the first time. It's a five mile trail (ten miles round trip). We only walked about 1 1/2 miles or so, didn't have time/energy/daylight to walk it all. Not much wildlife on today's visit. It's a power line trail that runs behind developments and through an old rice plantation. We'll go back again when it's a little warmer and have more time.
This is a no facilities location so bring water and supplies. No restrooms.
If you are coming from Georgia, plan to buy gas with you get there, it's about 15 cents a gallon cheaper in South Carolina.
