Here you will find the ruins of the medieval Cathedral and the bishop's residence from the 13th Century on the beautiful Museum grounds on the outskirts of Hamar. The museum is comprised of archaeological Exhibitions, a botanical garden and an outdoor museum with about 60 buildings from around Hedemarken County. The Cathedral ruins are protected by a much-discussed protective structure in glass and steel, called the Hamar Dome, which is an attraction in itself. Open every day in summer season. Groups all year when booked in forehand.
The place is a worth going as a day trip from Oslo. I would just say if you want to go in the winter time, just call or email them. You might not be able to get in.Thank you for coming by, though we are closed during winter time, we welcome requested group tours all year through.

Welcome to a year round destination, a Aqua Park with swimming events and activities for all ages and ability levels.
Nice place, with limited number of stores. Could have been better but keeping Hamar in mind I think its decent. This place have good food joint as well as stores.

Those who frequent railway museum around the world will find this one on the small side. It is very nicely arranged, with a central modern building on one side of the street and scattered sheds, old station buildings and a restaurant car along a short narrow rail in a very nice park setting along lake Mjøsa. The displays are well kept and clean with nice explanations, although if you speak only English you may loose some details in the translation.
There is a small train with a cute steam loco running from one end of the museum to the other,

I'm often at Koigen in the summer hanging out with friends.
Koigen has everything;
a beach with an artificial islet, skate constructions, barbecue areas, a playground for kids, benches and tables a basket ball court and three sand volleyball courts! It's the perfect place to enjoy your day off in the summer. Koigen is also 150 meter from Hamar centrum, it's easy to access and there are lots of parking spots as well.
If you're going to Hamar, Koigen is the best place to relax and sunbath!

complete package outing, sunbathing, swimming, restaurant, history, parks , sightseeing, walking . This place is really recommended. Though the botanical garden or "krydder hage" did not impressed me that much, but this place is absolutely recommendable :)

The Viking Ship is a modern multi-purpose hall with an interesting architecture. The form is based on the shape of the Viking ships, a functional and beautiful shape that is as appealing today as it was a thousand years ago. It was built for the Winter Olympics in 1994, and the Viking Ship is Norway's national arena for skating.
We visited this town, because we are interesting about olympic objects. We visited olympic stadion for skateracing. It is designed like viking´s boat but in opposite direction - bottom up. Now it is place for variety Exhibitions, I thing no for sport competitions.

The capacity at the historical premises is up to 900 guests. The room is open, making it easy to create the atmosphere you want during an event. The gallery at Hamar Sagbladfabrikk has hosted several major Exhibitions, including Morten Krogvold, Carl Nesjar, Franz, Nico and Thomas Widerberg, and Kjell Nupen.
A rather lacklustre concert venue. difficult to see what was going on, hard uncomfortable chairs and a mediocre acoustic.

The gallery hosts temporary Exhibitions, Norwegian and international contemporary art. Furthermore, we organise a performance festival every autumn.
We visited the art centre (2 adults and a 10 year old) to see the Zambian art exhibition by three different artists. We spent approx. an hour in peace and quiet. It was a good experience and we look forward to the next exhibition.
