Reservations are required. $40 per person tax-deductible donation (for adults and kids). Minimum age for visitors is seven years old. Home to goats, turkeys, rabbits, donkeys, cats, geese, pigs, tortoises, guinea pigs, ducks, deer, chickens, a cow and a dog, Leilani Farm Sanctuary is located on a lush 8-acre farm in Haiku, Maui. It is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization created to provide shelter and care for rescued animals, and humane education to the community. On the outer, most visible level, Leilani Farm Sanctuary lives and breathes upon a unique piece of rolling land, eight volcanic acres on a green Pacific island. But its superb location and jaw-dropping natural beauty are but reflections of its lush inner essence. The sanctuary is truly a paradise for animals and humans alike.
I came upon this tour by chance. I’m so glad I did! LauraLee is an amazing host and her love and care of the rescued animals shows. Her Sanctuary is a paradise. It’s fun to get up and close with the animals! Make sure to hug the turkey!!

This is a beautiful lushly green area with outstanding coastline views at the end. The 2-3 mile road down is mostly one lane, but with far less traffic then the Hana road and should be no problem. Park at the church (unless there are services), the road is closed at a bridge just beyond. It's an easy walk down the pavement from there to the overlook, but don't miss the deep pool and small waterfall halfway down, good for a swim if the stream isn't flowing fast. The overlook has beautiful views of the wild and rugged coast. You can make this side trip in less than an hour and it's well worth it.

We missed the Hanna Lava Tubes on our last visit to Maui, as we got there too late after an out and back to Lindberg’s grave. This visit, we allowed more time and enjoyed a self-guided tour. These are on private property and have a safe rugged trail with hand rails, and signs that describe the various formations. Ample free parking, you don’t need gloves or a hard hat. The tour takes approximately 45 minutes or more. It was us and two other families the whole visit, so we had the place practically to ourselves. Well worth the $12. entrance fee (children under five= free), that includes the use of a high-end flashlight. Got some good pictures even in low light (flash photo is OK). One in our group had been here before, yet also enjoyed the repeat visit. They also have a large “Red TI” botanical garden maze for kids. Bottled water for sale, & sometimes fruit. A newer port-a-potty was installed on site, (is a better restroom situation forthcoming)? A nice covered picnic area. When I went to their website, it loaded as “not secure”. Perhaps that is why there is no link to it from TA. Do not confuse this cave with the other “secret cave” pinpoints shown on google maps. This is a well-developed site, minutes off the main highway. Highly recommended, and close to other nearby points of interest in Hana. Mahalo.

Went out on the boat and had a blast even though I don’t fish ever. The whole crew was very helpful and friendly. We caught three wahoos along with plenty of other smaller fish, and the crew helped one of the younger kids reel one in which was fun to see. Definitely my favorite guided tour out of the 6 I’ve been on in Hawaii and I would highly reccomend going. Derrick, Dana, and Chris were great with the kids and made it a very fun trip
