The history of world religions comes to life through this museum's extensive collection of art and artifacts from different cultures and time periods. Glencairn was once the home of Raymond and Mildred Pitcairn. It was built between 1928 and 1939. Glencairn became a museum after the death of Mildred Pitcairn in 1979. Let our guides show you the best the Museum has to offer by taking our Highlights Tour. Tours leave regularly Tuesdays through Fridays at 2:30 pm and weekends at 1:00, 2:30 and 3:00 pm. The "Time Travelers" family backpack tour is at 1:45 pm on weekends. The Museum is only accessible through guided tours, with the exception of our two Festival Days. You can see all of the galleries through a self-guided tour during those events. Guided tours have a maximum of twelve people per tour. Reservations are strongly recommended. The Museum's 1st floor, including the Great Hall, Upper Hall, and Bird Room, is open weekends FREE of charge, from 1:00-4:30 pm. A FREE cell phone tour of Glencairn's exterior and 1st floor is also available. Please join us this weekend for FREE Coffee in the Castle!
We visited last week and was pleasantly surprised with the beautiful mansion now converted into a museum. It has beautiful stain glass windows that has been built on site and are replica of stain glass windows from European Churches. The guide was pleasant and knowledgeable.
The variety of artifacts and attention to details are impeccable. It also houses the pieces collected by the family from Egypt , Greece and other parts of the world.
Definitely worth the time in the beautiful surrounding !!!
Will be definitely going back during their Fall festival for various activities and special tours.

The Ambler Theater, built in 1928, is a modified Spanish design. It is a nonprofit community-owned theater with approximately 6,000 members. The theater seats 140 and 110 in 2 of the auditoriums. Renovations to the third auditorium were completed in 2007 and it seats 270. The theater features dolby digital sound, stadium seating, handicap access and hearing impaired services.
The Ambler Theater is a local gem and an antidote to the horrid multiplex, cookie cutter theaters that predominate in the suburbs It is the closest movie experience to the Ritz theaters that we have in the suburbs. Much of the original architecture of an "ancient" movie palace have been retained. The lobby is small but authentic. So is the small refreshment stand.
Seats are comfortable and the theaters are small enough so the screen occupies much of your line of sight. The attendees are usually well behaved
and respectful of others.
Left for last is the outstanding moves that only Ambler brings to the screen - small independent productions, foreign films, documentaries, televised performances.

Very impressive structure from the outside, and just as impressive on the inside. Had a wonderful, two hour tour of building with a Wright knowledgeable lady named Belinda. After tour, we continued our discussion with a lady named Helene. Both ladies enhanced what was an already incredible experience. Well worth the hour and a half drive from Hershey to see.

Enjoy superior shopping in the Abington Township, Montgomery County and Greater Philadelphia area at retailers that include Macy's, Bloomingdale's and more.
The Willow Grove Park Mall had opened in 1982 on the site of the former Willow Grove Amusement Park. The mall has over 150+ stores for shoppers with several anchor tenants that include Sears, Bloomingdales and Macy's. There was a JCPenny here as well which just was closed. There are many upscale stores for people to shop at. Some of the shops include Bath and Body Works, Apple Store, Verizon Wireless, T-mobile, American Eagle Outfitters, Gap, Gap Kids, Build a Bear Workshop and others. The places to eat include Auntie Annies', Master Wok, Chick-fil-A, Roll-ups, Saladworks, Stewarts and Starbuck's.
The mall is owned the PREIT or the Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust and Willow Grove Park is one of its more successful mores along with the Cherry Hill Mall in New Jersey.
The mall has three floors and it has a Victorian style throughout. There is also a carousel in the third floor entrance for guests.
We love this mall and are often shopping and the place does a great business. I would recommend visiting the Willow Grove Park Mall. Be sure to see some of the old pictures on the walls from the time when there was the famous Willow Grove Amusement Park on this very spot in the early 1900's.

Recently ranked the number one trail in Pennsylvania in 2018, this is a wonderful place to visit in the city. It contains the only covered bridge in an urban area in the United States. It has a few different trails that you can find at different intersections; I usually start at either Valley Green or Bells Mill road .
There’s a large running and biking trail that most people use but if you’re able to go and find the orange or white trail that’s where the hiking takes place. Stop at the Valley Green Inn if you want to have a nice lunch or romantic dinner. If you have children, bring some leftover bread so you can feed the ducks with them. Make sure you get a chance to see the secretive Indian statue on the white trail. It’s worth the hike!
Make sure you bring a lot of water, as water fountains are scarce. Also cell phone service is pretty nonexistent.

Great neighborhood addition.
Very busy bar scene. Dining room 3 steps up. Food abundant and delicious. Lobster special second Thursday of the month......pound and 1/2 with yummy fries and coleslaw for $21.95 and a great deal. Other dishes include Shepherd's pie, fish and chips....goody and tasty dishes. Recommend this place highly. The only negative is that it can get very noisy.

The Temple Judea Museum houses a series of exhibitions and displays some objects from its collection in the lobby of Kneseth Israel synagogue. Each exhibit is unique and well displayed, permitting visitors to and members of the synagogue to study and appreciate artifacts that represent their Jewish heritage. Admission is free and hours need to be confirmed with the synagogue office. The museum is good for a brief visit to be included among visits to other significant historical sites nearby.

First of all you must know that the park is available only to Abington Township tax paying residents and their guests. It is a beautiful park run by Abington Township Parks and Recreation Department. It has ball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, a kiddie area with a wading pool, a lake, a mini golf course and a nine hole chip and putt golf course. The golf course is nothing short of excellent. The greens are top of the line and most holes are between 70 and 90 yards long. There is a walking/biking trail that is paved and circles the entire park. It is a beautiful park maintained perfectly.

Take a drive around Arcadia University and you will see several beautiful historical buildings, most notable what was known as Grey Towers Castle. This building, which serves as the main administration building for the university, was built in the late 1800's. The castle has great beauty on the inside as well. As a functioning college campus, parts of the building as well as others are open for self-guided viewing.
