Garden City’s main attraction is the beach. Grab a boogie board and body surf on the waves, or build sand castles with the kids. For more exciting water fun, you can drive up the road to visit Myrtle Waves, a large water park with fun water slides and a lazy river. Adventurous adults can try parasailing above the ocean, and then relaxing with a fishing pole on the pier. There are so many things to do on the Grand Strand. Myrtle Beach has a new boardwalk and attractions including a giant Ferris wheel. You can visit Ripley's Believe It or Not museum and see the oddities, play in an arcade game, or get a hot dog from Peaches Corners. If you travel to Broadway at the Beach, you have a wide choice of restaurants including Margaretville, owned by Jimmy Buffett. There is also mini golf, a movie theater, and countless shops. Seafood is the order of the day in the Grand Strand and one of the finest seafood restaurants around is located right in Garden City, maybe even in walking distance of your vacation rental. Sara J's is located right on the marsh, and if the weather is good, you can enjoy your meal outside on the deck. There are numerous restaurants up and down the Strand offering a myriad of choices. The Carolina Opry, Legends in Concert, and the House of Blues all provide live entertainment. You can find clubs to go dancing or quiet little bars to have a drink.

Welcome to Wild Water & Wheels! Our 16-acre park is filled with more than 33 exciting rides, including high-speed flumes, Wipe Out wave pool, waterfalls, water playground for kids, lazy river, food court, lockers, gift shop and shower facilities. Also avilable are bumper boats, go carts and mini golf. It's the complete fun center for the entire family!
We've enjoyed coming to this park for years and this year was no exception. Took advantage of the discount day Sunday, wasn't too crowded, an average wait of a few minutes on the rides throughout the day, some a little less, some a little more. Typical though. The slides were all as expected, no surprises there. A couple of the normal ones were closed I guess for use with their mermaid show...for us...would've rather had use of the slides but seem to recall those were in need of some repair last year so that may have been another reason they were out of use. That's the good part..water park... measures up. As for the bad... do NOT pay for the mini-golf attraction. They should be ashamed at taking money from patrons to 'play' this course as the carpets are in horrible condition on most of the holes of this course. The go karts and bumper boats, etc... have never really held any interest for our group so no guidance to offer on those portions. Overall, go enjoy the water park and don't forget the sunscreen!

A beautiful 9,170-acre green park located 16 miles south of Myrtle Beach.
Awe inspiring sculptures and gardens! This is a must see place. I recommend arriving early before the heat and when the crowds were thin. I think the price is reasonable IF you plan to take advantage of your ability to use it over 7 days. But it would have been nice to have the option of paying for a 1 day visit, as we were leaving the following day. Still it was worth the $18 cost.

Escaping our fascinating "rooms" is the most popular fun activity to do in the area. Great challenge, and even greater excitement/fun for the whole family, friends and coworkers at almost any age. Recommended for anyone over 8 years old.
We love playing escape rooms and took our 6 yr old daughter (who also loves escape rooms) with us so there were 3 total. We played Island Dungeon Escape and had a great time. We thought there were clever puzzles throughout and a lot to solve. Also we loved how some of the rooms opened.
Only reason we didn't give 5 stars is because it's actually part of the game that the game master comes into the room to give clues and we feel that interferes with the immersion element. Also, the game master came into the room to try to retrieve something we dropped down where it didn't belong (but no longer needed) and that was just distracting when she should have just tried after we left. Overall though, really fun game! Great for beginners and experienced alike.

I've been to hundreds of flea mrkts from the A1A Flea in Old Orchards Beach to The Ft. Lauderdale Drive inn; they are Fleas Mrkts; the Hudson ONLY had resale venders basically all selling the same things and not at great prices. Our time there was a huge waste of time.

We stopped by just to visit the driving range. We purchased a large bucket of balls and proceeded outside. We were hoping to use the covered bays, but the other golfers were set up in front of the covered bays (in the non-covered area), so we couldn't hit there. It was a HOT day, so we took turns driving, then sitting under the covered bay area to cool off. It was a nice range.
They have clubs you can borrow (for free) inside, but you need to bring your own tees. You can purchase tees, apparel, drinks, etc in the clubhouse.

This is more for adults than kids. It's mostly bars and restaurants along the inlet marsh. Great for listening to live music and relaxing. No chain restaurants, all local.

The marshwalk is better in off season, I think, just b/c there are fewer people. It is located on the water, behind the restaurants. You can see Goat Island, a great view of the inlet, the boats, and of course, the restaurants. At one end is the pier for the marina; it is worth walking out as well. You can stroll & stop or you can walk in a hurry up and back, although why you would want to hurry is beyond me. It is a free thing to do. In the past, during season, there have been crafts fairs but I don't know if they have them any longer. You can hear the music from the restaurants if you are on the marshwalk, which is a treat.

Great fun for the entire family, we have two 18 hole mini golf courses. You will be putting through the courses around the water and through the cave. Come on out and play them both!!
Clean and updated. We did the difficult course and thoroughly enjoyed it even though it was challenging. Will return again to do the other course. Highly recommended for all ages.

Was at the beach, the sand is nice, the water is clean. The restaurant on the pier is open, the pier itself is going to be replaced. The pier is not open at this time. They said the money is available to replace the pier.
