10 Things to do in Gangdong-gu That You Shouldn't Miss

November 22, 2021 Esmeralda Fenner

Seoul is the business and cultural hub of South Korea, where skyscrapers tower over Buddhist temples. Take it all in from the N Seoul Tower, built atop a peak in Namsan Park. The teahouses and shops of Insadong give you a taste of Korean flavor, which you can further experience with a visit to the grounds and museums of Gyeongbokgung. UNESCO World Heritage Site Changdeokgung Palace is a fine example of authentic ancient architecture.

Gwangnaru Hangang Park

Reviewed By InEok - Seoul, South Korea

1. Meeting a snake and a water deer in the big city like Seoul, Korea is pretty unusual. Maybe some people live in Seoul, may not believe what I had experienced. I was able to take photos of snake sunbathing on the small tree branch which will be a proof. But unable to take another one, water deer, since the little one & I both were so surprised each other. He/she ran into the reeds colony while I was taking fright that moment. It was because we encountered when I turn the corner of the trail fully covered with mostly pretty tall reeds. 2. It was fortunate to take a nice moment a man is reading a book under the bridge, GwangJinGyo that crosses the Han river. Also another shots of some people taking exercise and rest under another big bridge, ChunHoDaeGyo. 3. Among 11 parks along the Han river, Gwangnaru Hangang Park is the biggest mainly because it holds Amsa ecological reserved area (Completely prohibited to go in) and Amsa ecological park, where you can take a walk. Of course this park also has many sports and recreational facilities such as Bike theme park, soccer fields, volleyball courts, basketball courts, tennis courts, gate ball courts, inline skate rink, BXM track even Swimming pool though they are now all closed except Bike them park because of Covid19. Means you can do various thins here including eco-tour at Amsa ecological park.

A decent traditional market near Amsa Station. Good to visit together with Amsa Prehistoric Site and Gwangnaru Hangang Park. - The location is about 5 min walk from metro line #8 Amsa Station. - Well-maintained and great vibe. Things are cheap and nice. You can also have some street foods.
