We find ourselves talking about this museum more often than we could have expected. My favorite painting was Washington Crossing the Delaware. For DH, a painting by Church captured his attention and impressed him that Winona would have such high quality and famous artists.... Of course the museum has paintings by more famous artists, too! But we appreciated it all and would go back if in Winona again!

The collections is jammed into far too small of an area. Had this been in a proper building, with decent displays, it could be the #1 tourist attraction in the Midwest. The collection is great, but too much stuff jammed in , under, behind, and over there, in the dimly lit areas.
No Cameras allowed, no pictures period.
Buildings are almost dark, very poor lighting, yes it is THAT DARK.

A scenic overlook where visitors can see from Lake Pepin to Mount Trempealeau.
Drove up to this scenic viewpoint and really did enjoy the view. Noted a walking trail, but not sure of distance so didn't take.

Been driving by this for years and continually wonder what keeps is going. This is a neat attraction though and I recommend checking it out, it is very inexpensive and only takes a few minutes.

Lake Park in Winona, Minnesota is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen! There is a paved path that surrounds the lake, that you can walk, bike, roller blade, ect... Gorgeous tree covered bluffs, playground, veteran's memorial, rose gardens, fishing piers, ducks and swans,
ect... Lake Park is an Ideal place to spend the day and have fun and relax...great for all ages. I go there several times a week, and I feel very lucky to live only a mile from there.

Kinstone is located in rural Fountain City, Wisconsin. It features one of the largest privately owned stone circles in the world. This has not been confirmed, but we must be close! There are over a million tons of granite boulders, standing stones. Come to enjoy the beauty of the space, see our gardens find a spot for quiet contemplation and re-connect to nature, or take a circuitous walk around to visit the stones and natural buildings. It is a contemplative, park-like place with spectacular views and intriguing sculpture and structures. This 30-acre bluff-top property has over 100 standing stones including a large stone circle and dolmen, classic labyrinth, thatched cordwood chapel, dry-stack stone sculpture, natural buildings, permaculture gardens, terraces and more. There are alignments at Solstice and Equinox. Kinstone is also home to Kinstone Classroom where we provide education for health and sustainable living.
I participated in a Cordwood Building class recently. A place that should not be ignored- day or night. Labyrinth of seven circuits, Megalithic Dolmen, Kinstone Chapel, examples of cordwood buildings, tours and education... AND the goats! Thanks Susan! You have left a lasting impact on the place with your help on our Dragon's Keep cordwood building.

Beautiful church in a quiet small town on the banks of the Mississippi River. Lovely interior with gorgeous stained glass windows and a huge pipe organ loft. Exterior is difficult to photograph due to electrical wires and poles, but nice from across the street. Pretty little grotto on the side.

This park is made for boaters. There are many spots for boaters to park their vehicles and put their boats in the water. The views from the rivers are amazing as the hills of the Coulee region surround the park. There are also canoes to rent if you don't own a boat. You can camp at this park. Most of the campsites have gorgeous river views. There is also a nature center and hiking trails.
