The Gallery at Flat Rock presents thoughtfully curated contemporary art, crafts and gifts in all mediums. We offer an ongoing schedule of fun and thought provoking events geared for the entire community and create opportunities for artists, collectors and friends to learn and connect with each other. The Gallery also provides an Art Advisory Service. See our website for more information.
This is a new gallery, less than 2 years old, but it is becoming a magnet for special displays, lectures, exhibits, jewelry and textiles. Wonderful handmade jewelry in all prices, wall art, fabulous sculptures and unique artifacts are well chosen. Suzanne, the owner, selects artists to highlight each month and evening wine events take place often. The displays are remarkably well done, the gallery is airy with lots of natural light. Events are seamlessly hosted, whether it is a meeting, class or lecture. Pieces do not linger for long here, if you like it you better buy it or it will be gone.

This is a small shop in a small strip with a dentist office and the Flat Rock Post Office; it's filled with treasures! It's difficult to find something "Made in America" but you certainly can here. It was a great place to Christmas shop.

I couldn’t imagine a better way wash away the stress of elections day. Tyler, our wine expert, was personable and engaging; he made our afternoon experience very enjoyable. The wine, views, and atmosphere were exquisite! We will return! Do a wine tasting you won’t regret sampling the delicious variety this new vineyard has to offer. Take a look at the pictures, even the bees approve of their delicious selections.

Home of poet Carl Sandburg and his family. Located on 264-acres in Western North Carolina. The site includes 5-miles of hiking trails, a dairy goat farm and offers daily tours of the Sandburg Home.
Spent a few hours here on a pleasant, autumn day. The grounds are well kept, and the paths are easy walks. The goat farm area is interesting with wonderful volunteers who have a lot of fascinating information. Nearby, there is a vegetable garden planted and maintained by volunteers. Unfortunately, the plantings are not identified. By the restrooms, there are interesting informative plaques. We brought lunch and ate at one of the picnic tables near the lake, which was surrounded by trees with changing color leaves. There is no admission fee, but be sure to put a few dollars in the donation box. There is a fee for the house tour, but we did not do it.

Every time we visit the North Carolina mountains, The Wrinkled Egg is a must-do! Great souvenirs and many items made by local artisans. The shop is among some of my favorite lunch places too...Flat Rock Bakery, Hubba Hubba BBQ & Campfire.

This is a very well maintained park just outside of Hendersonville, NC. There are nice restroom facilities, ample parking spaces, picnic areas, and a nice playground for children. Trails are partially paved with the other areas being loose stone. There were people of all ages and ability levels using the trails. Benches are provided near the stream which allow visitors to stop and enjoy the tranquility of the area. Lots of well behaved dogs on leashes with their owners.
