We have visited this park a few times recently on our visits to Melbourne to see our toddler grandson. It's a perfect park for all ages - two lovely playgrounds for little; two skateboard arenas, one small one for beginning children; plenty of grass and trees for picnics; tennis and basketball courts; and plenty of paths for prams and people with canes and walkers.

The place to get something new and eclectic. Based in Fitzroy at the Australia Catholic University, the market provides pop up retail outlets for Designers, Artisans, and Makers to sell quality items on the CBD’s doorstep. Collaborating with the Rag Trade and Recycle Market our market sells quality items direct to the public within the high street vibe. A community initiative with a big heart.

The Rose St. Artists’ Market is where those in-the-know find Melbourne’s best art and design talent. Each Saturday and Sunday there’s a huge line-up of creative types, so expect to feast your eyes on plenty of unique gems and one-off wonders that you won’t get anywhere else! There’s everything from art, photography, fashion, jewellery, accessories, homewares, collectables, tasty treats, rooftop bar….and more!
As we’re backpacking everything was out of our price range but there were SO many things I would buy if money wasn’t an issue! Gorgeous jewellery in particular. We were in Fitzroy which is an awesome part of town with lots going on. Would recommend building this into a day out in Fitzroy because it doesn’t take all that long to get round so you could go for brunch after or something. Worth taking the time to visit though! :)
