Mirador de Filandia

It's 8,000 to enter this. To be honest I don't think it's worth it. The building is interesting but as a mirador there are a few others that are free that are just as good.
The Angel mirador - take the street that runs from the left of the church. We felt that was a much better view and it's free.

My wife and I went on the tour of the reserve (guadua means "bamboo tree") in a cloud forest. Carlos was our guide, and for over two hours guided us through the forest, explaining the ecological issues that allow this marvelous place to survive. This survival is aided by the commitment of Carlos and his colleagues of the Kasaguadua Foundation, who are committed to preserving the forest. This was not only an educational and inspiring tour, but also provided a hike through beautiful scenery. It is free but donations are accepted (and really, really you should donate if you go on this tour). It is a short jeep ride from Salento, but also walkable. Don't miss it if you're in Salento!

Finca El Mirador

Finca El Mirador is one exotic destination in Filandia, Quindio. Coffee culture tours, amazing view, great coffee preparations and friendly people awaits for your visit.

Best option around the region to discover a coffee plantation. No too small, not too large that might take you hours. This "Coffee finca" or plantation is perfectly located 10 minutes away from Filandia town, in a breathtaking view point of the whole region. They serve a diverse and delicious types of coffee and drinks for every taste.
Please know that I like a more intimate tour, instead of a full of people team park style, so if you agree with me, this is your place. Book your English tour with time, and customize it to your needs. The owner himself gave us a fantastic tour. Very entertaining and also very educational and inspiring. Something I did not expect, as it is not like a thematic park, it comes from the reason the finca was formed, the needs for it, and the love for this land. You will understand the passion, the heritage, and the culture that this region and its people have to offer just talking to this guy.
Thank you so much for a great service, a great tour and we will be back!

There are several specialist shops and eating places around this relatively small and partly shaded square. We enjoyed our visit very much. In general, we liked Filandia better than the more frequently visited town of Salento, which is now too touristy.

Go to this finca for your coffee tour! It's a 1-1,5h bike ride from Filandia and you can take a jeep (it's called whilly here) back. It's a beautiful scenery, but if you don't enjoy
going downhill on dirt roads you can also go both ways with the car. The owner, Javier picks you up at the police station in Quimbaya and takes you to his finca, with an amazing view over the valley and his ecological coffee plantation. First he showed us around his little jungle, and explained all the 1000 different plants, flowers and birds to us. After enjoying a tasty juice at his place he showed us how they select, dry and roast their beans in their small factory before we enjoyed a cup of coffee (with fresh cow milk from his cows if you want to!) on his balcony. He was incredibly nice and friendly and really enthusiastic about his farm and his "respeto por la vida". We loved our stay there and could have easily extended our stay for a few days there, if we had the time. He also offers 2-3 bedrooms for guests. Muchas Gracias Javier!

We were hosted by Christian who walked us through the plantation and the coffeemaking process. He answered all of our numerous questions. At the end, you get to taste their coffee (included) and some of their pastries (extra).
The tourism activity of this finca is fairly new (1 year) and less "industrial" than it's neighbors - we were alone in our group so was the following one.
