Son Martorellet

Son Martorellet is one of Minorca’s most historical and traditional estates. Our original activity was based on cattle breeding of sheep. Since 1997 we have been exclusively dedicated to the breeding, care and training of the Minorcan Breed horse. The equestrian show was performed for the first time in 2000. Before that the horses where enjoyed by the previous owners, the Devecchi family, originally from Italy. The estate was passed on to the ownership of a firm entirely Minorcan in 2006. Our priority is the promotion of the Minorcan Horse. In order to do so, we cover all equestrian arts: Resident Show “SOMNI”, elite school exhibitions, dressage competitions, on road shows and events not only in Minorca but all around the European territory. We are located on the road to Cala Galdana on the left. You can distinguish by high palm trees and flags horses. We hope too see you there!

Cala Trebaluger

Cala Trebaluger is an idyllic, relaxing beach that was absolutely worth the hot walk from Cala Mitjana! It is much less crowded than many other Calas on Menorca and yet is a beauty to the eyes and refreshment to the soul. I will definitely revisit!

Binissues

Travel to the past and authentic rural Menorca life. Animals and actors period dressed show the ancient field work: ploughing, sowing, milking, making cheese... and other attractions like a waterwheel, a show of folk dance and a tasting of traditional products. A cultural offer, suitable for all audiences, that complement the museum-houses, the natural sciences museum of Menorca and the restaurant. Check the hours of the different activities in our web-site. An unforgettable excursion.

We visited Binissues on Wednesday and we had a fantastic time. This place has been improved beyond measure since our last visit about 10 years ago and they now do an amazing interactive show about traditional Menorca farming which is run by a lovely young couple who involve the audience and make it a relaxed fun way to spend an afternoon ( we went to the 6 pm show). They demonstrate bread making in a traditional Menorca stove, cheese making, milking a cow etc. Cannot recommend highly enough. Apart from the show, the large house is beautiful and a museum in itself, and there is also a very interesting natural history exhibition with specimens of various butterflies and bugs etc to look round. A lovely Restaurant and snack bar with great views and reasonable prices. Suitable for all ages. Will definately return.

Castle of Santa Agueda

Reviewed By F8054GKjoshs - Leipzig, Germany

We decided to do the hike at around 11am or so, which at the time, sounded like a really stupid idea because of the sun, but we were pleased to find that the path had a good balance of shade and sun and the peak treated us to some great views and a refreshing breeze. I’m not sure how crowded this normally gets, but considering Menorca’s beaches are far more popular that a hike up a hill in the middle of the day, we were the only ones on the site which was absolutely fabulous. The actual castle is in ruins since it was destroyed, but there’s still a lot to take in and explore. The Roman path was also a great surprise and a truly marvelous feat for the people at the time. On the way up, you walk past the remains of a chapel dedicated to Saint Agatha and an old car. I’d love to know the story behind this car. Either way, great hike and relatively easy for everyone, even children to do, even though some parts of the path seem to be loose rock and dust.
