Four Horses and a Dog is a vineyard and winery that came to life in 2008 and is located in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. It's run by two couples, Mike + Cheryl and Stephen + Jeanine. Oh, they all love wine too.
We felt spoiled as we were the only people there on the evening we visited. When we left we had some new friends. We tasted every wine they had and we enjoyed them all. We sat and visited for a long time and before we knew it it was closing time. We can not wait to get back and visit hopefully we can tour the property when the weather gets better. Thank you for your hospitality.

What a gem! Love this sweet little winery! We visited on a Saturday afternoon for the Fermentation Tour And Tasting a rarely offered event! Get your tickets! I am a wine, novice, I totally enjoyed the tour and tasting, very fun and informative. The staff is wonderful. The settings gorgeous, you will not be disappointed. My non wine drinking husband even found a wine he enjoyed! They also have a fun love lock wall. I flipped for the backpack Missouri Chambourcin

We went to Excelsior Springs to visit a local brewery and decided to stop at Atlas Saloon first. The bartender, Alexis, greeted us promptly and invited us to sit at the bar or a table. We chose a table and she brought us a basket of popcorn (which was sprinkled with a local BBQ rub and it was delicious)....we all ordered beers and the brew-master helped us create our own tour. Every beer our group ordered was top-notch and I especially liked the Salta, Kolsch and Helles....but my friend had Scottish Ale and Scottish Stout and the brew-master offered a private sample not for purchase. I think the brewmaster's name was Keith and you could tell he was proud of his product, and for good reason! Anyway, the customers were friendly, the bartender was delightful, and the brew-master was informative, interested and interacted with us throughout our afternoon! On a side note, after a few hours we did leave for the "other" brewery, but didn't stay there long. Next time we will just come to Atlas Saloon and stay there - what a great experience and the bar is beautiful!

The architecture of the hall is stunning along with the light fixtures and other details. I enjoyed seeing and reading about the history. Make sure to see the hall, the bath house section and go downstairs to see the pool. Was probably a very amazing place to see in action years ago. No entrance fee, donation only.

Neat little park to stop and stretch your legs at or have a picnic. Wish they had a sign or something that told the history of the area there.
