The Vriniotis family winery is based in Gialtra, a small village in northern Euboea, 14 kilometers away from Aedipsos. The winery operates throughout the year and welcomes visitors who may taste its wines in a connoisseur guest room. The panoramic view from the winery premises is captivating, for one can behold the vineyard, the northern Euboekos Gulf, Aedipsos township and the Oreoi passage that leads to the Aegean sea. The private vineyard of 100,000 square meters is located in Gialtra and at the foot of Mount Telethrion with an altitude that varies from 200 to 450 meters. On its slopes grow the red Greek varieties of Vradiano, an old variety of northern Euboea -born-again due to the efforts of the Vriniotis winemakers- together with the Mauvrokountoura variety and the cosmopolitan Syrah; along side grow the white Greek varieties of Assyrtiko, Malagouzia, Aedani and Malvasia. The northern Euboea region is known for its therapeutic thermal springs, the inactive Lichada volcano and islands and its quality wines that led Homer in the Iliad to characterize the Histiaea land as «rich in vines» (Homer, Iliad, II 537).
Spectacular sunset with an astonishing assyrtiko by the glass! Worth a visit, a hidden gem out of the beaten track. Exemplary!

This is a paradise beach. Perl-like tiny pebbles are an attraction on their own; make overall colour of the beach shell pinkish white with lots of the pebbles having pink colour in them. You will want to take some of them home. No way to make sand castles out off perls. Water is clear even when stormy, offering adventurous swim along the shore with high and low ancient rocks out and in the water with playful unafraid fish; discovering private spot beaches unreachable from land. Paddling watersports shop is there. But not scuba diving, not skiing or other speedy motor boat sports. Lots of diving from high rock to rock pool. Beach beds are there for you when you buy a drink or two from the front - keeping restaurants, and you can't avoid that anyway. Treat yourself to a freshly squeezed orange juice. Coffee-man paradise here with a variety of hot and cold coffee drinks. All other facilities are there in numbers. Food is great fresh local and prices are modest. I would say it's small child friendly as the pebbles provide sensory therapy experience for all. For older ones supervision is necessary as for untrained emotions rocks can be dangerous. I saw many boisterous divers risking no matter what. Possibly hard to keep them from climbing rocks and diving off them.

The place where the bridge is built, is the narrowest point of the channel, and the water current can reach the speed of 15km (9 miles) per hour! It is really interesting to watch the reversion of flow direction that happens about every 6 hours. The exact time of reversion is determined by the position of the moon.

We visited this beach in June it is a hidden gem! Crystal clear waters, a beautiful swimming spot and that is very private and quiet. You can only access this beach by using a four-wheel-drive as the road is quite rugged and steep. if you can get there would highly recommend as a day trip!

Mineral hot water fall to the sea and provide an excellent blend os cold sea water and hot mineral water. Small pools are craved into the rocks and offer natural relaxing baths

.A long strip of beach with crystal waters; occasionally you will get a group of jelly fish swimming by the straights.two or three exquisite tavernas with fresh fish and authentic unpretentious Greek food. Very laid back. A couple of beach bars for different ages. Here you can catch the boats to take you to the little islands across called Lihadonisia. Very few hotels-you really need to find accommodation in the nearby village of St. Georgios.

We loved our trip to Lichadonisia. We went from Kavos in the glass bottomed boat which took us on a short 20 minute trip round the island. We didn't see seals this time (I've been before and have seen them) but it was still really enjoyable. It's a beautiful beach in a pretty bay with a great beach bar. The food is far above usual beach bar standards - the sardines and grilled squid were amazing - and the wine is really good. Would definitely recommend it for a day trip if you're in northern Evia.
