We have lived in Foley for almost a year, but have never gone to the Railroad Museum. We finally decided to give it a try. Wow. What an experience. So much to look at and comprehend about Foley and it's history. Lots of things we didn't know about. The place needs a little more organization and the exhibits need to be labeled better, but overall, just a great trip back in time. They are in the process of getting things organized and probably within the year, it will be even better.

This little farm sells homemade cheese and other assorted items like olives and jams. I think they are only open on Fridays and Saturdays in the winter, maybe other days in peak season. I went by twice while we were staying in the area, and all the cheeses were wonderful!

We start by boarding you upon arrival so that you may enjoy our comfy padded seats, and canopied covered boat [sunscreen is optional on our boat]. From the moment we locate the first pod of wild dolphin, until our excursion ends, you'll be amazed by the phenomenal dolphin shows aboard our spacious boat. P.S. We let you keep your shoes on!
We had an excellent time on your tour. We saw plenty of dolphins throughout the trip. Note- where you turn in for the marina, it isn’t signed. It’s essentially under the bridge.

We drove about 2 hours out of our way on our spring break road trip to come here. There are about 205 alligators on the property. The feeding was well organized, everyone had good seats. But during his presentation one of the staff members repeatedly made misogynist comments about women such as ladies always like alligator shoes and girls like pink. At one point he likened one of the alligators to Hillary Clinton. It was extremely offensive and divisive. He kept calling female alligators “ladies” instead of female alligators and he couldn’t even say the scientific word “mating”— he called it “alligator wrestling.” You would think someone working at a place like this would have a better handle on science.
The place is well kept and clean and the alligators appear healthy and happy. We got to hold a baby alligator too. They take in nuisance alligators that would otherwise have been euthanized.

This was out first time to shop Tanger Outlet Foley. I took my 15 year old son shopping there one morning while we were there, because it was to cool during the morning to go to the beach. This outlet mall was so much cleaner and nicer than some of the others that we have been to. The people in the mall office were so nice and helpful, the easy access from building to building was easy and well marked throughout the entire mall. There was a wide variety of stores and great deals. We will be back.

Well off the beaten path sits a little roadside attraction called Bamahenge. What is it? Well, it's a replica of Stonehenge, made out of fiberglass, located in lower Alabama. It's built to scale. You can get out and walk around it. There's not a sign, a grand entrance or even a parking lot. Just turn like you're going to Barber Marina and it will be right around the curve on your right. You can see it through the trees.
Of course, it's free to look at. Right past it are some dinosaur sculptures sitting back in the trees a bit.
All of this, as well as the Lady in the Lake, is owned by Alabama billionaire, George Barber, who is an art collector.

Gulf State Park's two miles of beaches greet you with plenty of white sun-kissed sand, surging surf, seagulls and sea shells, but there is more than sand and surf to sink your toes into. Inside Gulf State Park there is a championship golf course, new beach pavilion, rental cottages, tennis courts, camp sites, hiking trails, Zip Line, and a fishing pier that is 20-feet wide and extends 1,512 feet into the Gulf. This and much more make Gulf State Park the perfect in-state vacation or out-of-state adventure.
Our family likes to visit state and federal parks and this park is by far one of the best that we have ever been to! The beach area is clean and patrolled routinely. There is no party crowd and it is only families on the...MoreLove our soft white sand! Thanks so much for visiting and now that we are your favorite, come back and see us soon!

I was intrigued as to the tools of the trade and you will be too. Well worth the time

The weather has been spectacular and that has the golf course grass trying to come out of its winter dormancy earlier than usual, plus we had huge rains to muddy up some areas. Regardless, the course is very scenic, fun, enjoyable, and challenging for all skill levels. We will be back in a few weeks when the grass transitions are complete. This was a good day, plus try the cheeseburger in the clubhouse!
