Eastport is a small city (consisting entirely of islands) in Washington County, Maine, United States. The population was 1,331 at the 2010 census, making Eastport the least-populous city in Maine. The principal island is Moose Island, which is connected to the mainland by causeway. Eastport is the easternmost city in the United States (although the nearby town of Lubec is the easternmost municipality).

I have been to The Commons Eastport many times, always a wonderful experience. This past summer I brought my sisters there to see the GIGANTIC ocean liner that was moored there. Covid-19 had not hit Washington County at that time and we all had tested negative and traveled from CT which was safe. The artisans work which is offered is of high quality and creativity. There's something for everyone. I myself purchased 2 handbags, one leather crafted by Loon Mountain Leatherworks and a felted bag crafted by Patara Studio. Both are lovely. Eastport is fun and historically interesting.

A work colleague told me about this place. Driving around the island from Honolulu going east, it wasn’t the intended destination. We were going to only go half way and then cut across 61 to return. But another 10 miles further so I asked if the group minded. Off we well t to Full Fathom Five. OMGosh! This visit made my trip! Mark and Christine are an amazing couple. They have extraordinary jewelry pieces made from sea glass. Glass roaming around the oceans for decades! The also host other artist’s art. I walked away with two necklaces for gifts and a bracelet for myself. Even if you don’t buy anything, Christine and Mark are wonderful artists to talk story with. ????????????????????

Raye’s Mustard is a working museum in the island community of Eastport, Maine, and the last remaining traditional stone ground mustard mill in North America. At the turn of the last century, when Raye’s Mustard was built to supply mustard to the two dozen sardine canneries in Eastport and others along the coast of Maine, Eastport had a population of over 5,000. Today, all of Maine’s sardine canneries are gone, and Eastport has lost 75% of its population. But Raye’s Mustard Mill survives as a testament to the past. Each year, thousands of tourists from all 50 states and nations around the world visit the mill to see the production process first-hand, and enjoy a rare link to the past while learning about the history of mustard-making and its role in Maine’s bygone sardine industry. Stopped here briefly with several friends. Who knew there were so many varieties of mustard. We were able to sample several of them and I bought 3 small jars to take home.

Great shop, outstanding photography by the owner. Well worth a stop to check out the wide variety of pictures, even if you don't buy anything (but chances are you will!).

Enjoyed a lovely picnic in the brand new pavilion. Charcoal BBQs to use if you bring your own charcoal. Nice view of the cove.
