The 3-story home built by artist and suffragist Blanche Ames and her botanist husband Oakes, is the centerpiece of this park. Visitors can also walk and horseback ride, fish, canoe, ice-skate and sled.
Borderland State Park has easy trails for walkers and more challenging ones for hikers. I took the easy 3 mile walk which is a slightly uneven unpaved road that includes woodlands, three ponds, interesting rock formations, meadows and farmland. The mansion was closed during my visit, but the exterior is interesting and worth inspecting. The park is large and uncrowded. There is a visitor center with restrooms and trail maps. Overall a top walkers destination. Bring insect repellent.

wonderful place to walk and see some small animals. They have a petting area and sheep. It is free and kept very clean. If you enjoy nature you will have fun.

This place is such a gem. More people need to frequent it! Not only is it set in a beautiful environment with a lake replete with classic swans swimming, but there's an outdoors sculpture/sanctuary type landscape as well as the beautiful architecture of the main exhibit building itself. The exhibits I saw recently were outstanding. Old glass repurposed in wonderful and fanciful ways as well as an outstanding modern tapestry exhibit. There's always some community based exhibits as well as the museum seems committed to partnering with the local schools and children to support artistic development. There's a delightful walkout onto a terrace which sits right on the lake. You feel as if you are in a floating Japanese style space. Tho the snack cafe wasn't opened when we visited it seems a perfect place to sit with or without food. There is ample free parking and its so refreshing to be outside the city in a short, traffic free drive to see good art/crafts. Can't say enough good things about this place!

Went during apple picking season and while it was a little more pricey then some other places, you can't be the location (we live in Bridgewater) lots of animals and other fun things for the kids too!!!!Thank you for the review, but are you sure you are thinking of Sauchuk's Corn Maze? We don't have apple picking or any animals (yet).

This place is amazing. It is run by the Smith family and have a wide variety of things to purchase, from plants to wrought iron pieces, to fairy garden pieces. They also carry a vast variety of herbs and vegetable plants. Pick your owns also...

We were here to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. The owner greeted us and was very gracious and friendly. He explained everything in detail of what we could expect and he even spent time talking to our guests. The two instructors were great, and very competent and made us feel very comfortable and relaxed. The place is small but we did not feel that was a negative. The views on a clear day are fantastic. I would not hesistate to recommend them.

This family farm is a good place for homemade ice cream and we often take the grand-kids there when they visit. Inside the store vegetables in season are very expensive. There are cows available for the children to look at while eating their ice cream.

TreeTop Adventures is an exciting new zip-line and climbing park located just 30 minutes south of Boston at the Irish Cultural Centre in Canton, MA. This aerial forest adventure is fun, exciting and safe for all participants. We provide a harness and equipment and give you a safety briefing that demonstrates how to climb and zip line in the Park. There are 10 separate trails of varying levels of difficulty ranging from beginner to advanced. Every trail has a zip-line! Incredible fun for everyone - families and groups. Come spend the day at Greater Boston's #1 outdoor adventure attraction!
The name says it -- tree top adventures climbing and balancing and zipping, all with an amazing safety system automated so any age, any language speaker can enjoy the experience. It is physically and mentally challenging, and each person can choose his or her own difficulty level, although everyone must do easy to intermediate before expert. It is like an aerial obstacle course with zipping and a few rappelles. Go off peak for lower wait times (price breaks for evening and groups of ten or more). The price is worth it, divided over all the hours of adventure! I went with three other adults and six kids ages 11-15 and everyone loved it. Enthralling respite from brain-oriented daywork!

Definitely worth the trip if your making a point to check out of all of the local MA Breweries. Nice small brewery where your literally right on top of the brewing process--the day we were here they were changing the beers and you could smell the Hops as they were emptying them out... food option right next door as well.
