Shopping abounds in the city's plentiful malls, while the Corniche impresses visitors with picturesque architecture and dazzling views of the harbor. Doha boasts myriad cultural facilities, including the futuristic Education City and the National Museum. Having hosted the 2006 Asian Games, the city is home to many sports complexes as well.

Souq Waqif a buzzling place not only for tourism. Build in the style of an old souq fully modernized but kept the admostphere of the old times. Use parkings underground very close between the souq and Cornish.

This is a wonderful place definitely worth a visit. If you are Muslm, please come here for prayers.... there is a separate section for women.... and the place could not be nicer. Good to find places in Qatar for spiritual recharge. If you are not Muslim, it is fine to sit quietly in the mosque and pray and meditate. This is an authentic cultural experience and sacred place. It is very special.

Corniche in Doha is hardly a suitable Promenade area in comparison with the Corniche in Abu Dhabi, for example. Lack of cafes, green areas, benches and even pavements doesn’t make it a good place for walk. Yet it has something to offer though - a great number of dhow boats to choose from. Renting a boat for one hour trip is an affordable and pleasant endeavor. Enjoying sea breeze and city views is particularly recommended at sunset.

Msheireb Museums are an integral aspect of the inner city's regeneration of the old commercial centre in Doha with its traditional community-based lifestyle. The restoration of the four heritage houses, Bin Jelmood House, Company House, Mohammed Bin Jassim House and Radwani House, into world-class museums forms a vital part of the Msheireb Downtown Doha development.
All 4 houses are well worth a visit to get an historical perspective of Qatar's cultural, social, and historic development. Each of the heritage houses provides a unique aspect of the history of the region: from enslaved peoples, pearl diving, the discovery of oil, educational and scientific development, and traditional family life. Don't miss the 6-minute video in the Company House. Msheireb Museum is centrally located in oldest part of Doha near the Souq Waqif and Islamic Cultural Center and walking distance to the Corniche. Free admission/Friendly staff/2-3 hours to see it all at a relaxed pace.

The museum is a bit chaotic, but has some really interesting exhibits on display. The collection of weapons, books, carpets, furniture and ancient stones are particularly impressive. The museum’s huge space and the number of exhibits which amounts to more than one thousand are a little bit headache inducing, so don’t try to see everything, just focus on what is of particular interest specifically to you. The museum is located rather far away from Doha, but quite close to the Mall of Qatar. So visiting this museum and the mall in one trip seems like a wise idea.
