As we were traveling around Douglas Lake looking at property we stumbled upon Bush's Beans Visitor Center. I would highly recommend stopping here for a self guided tour and a stroll down memory lane. Great place to stretch your legs and get a good bite to eat. The staff is incredibly friendly as well.

Tinsley-Bible Drugstore

Reviewed By jazzgran - Blairsville, Georgia

I guess the biggest revelation to me was that the "Bible" in the name is the last name of one of the founders. This is a tiny place probably mostly patronized by locals...an old fashioned pharmacy with a soda fountain and a few gift type items. Fun memorabilia on walls but it'll take you five minutes or less to see unless you stay for ice cream.

To see the dam you need to follow the signs to the tailwater area and power plant (you can't go in the power plant. There is a nice campground, great fishing on the river and a great view of the dam. On the way to the dam there are two turnoffs to overlooks. The upper overlook provides the best views.

That's right, the boat caught on fire!! We had just left the marina with the red and white skiboat "deckboat" when the engine began to lose power; then the lifejacket compartments started leaking smoke, and then the engine started pouring out smoke. My wife and I had lifejackets on and the fire extinguisher out, thinking we would have to ditch the boat when some fellow boaters rescued us and got us away from the boat as fast as possible. When we were returned to the dock by the good samaritans the woman owner said - and I'm not making this up - "Now, are you being overdramatic?" and then tried to push a pontoon boat on us after vaguely making insinuations we might be somehow responsible. Yes, this happened in real life, at 12:30pm on 6/29/17. We are mid-30s experienced skiers and boaters, not newbies. Mechanical problems happen, but the answer is complimentary upgrades and free hours - not rudeness, which is inexcusable.

Skydive East Tennessee

Beware of the website and misinformation. Even though I called to make sure someone over 220 lbs could participate, and their website says they can accommodate people up to 260 lbs---after 3 hours driving time--we were told one of us could not do it because they weighed 252 lbs, and they reserve the right not to take them. It was a birthday present/trip, and made the drive and feelings fall faster than a skydiving experience.

Two families joined together on Douglas Lake to spend Father's Day together. Two adults, 2 teenagers, 2 tweens. We rented a 24' pontoon online. We arrived on time and check in was seamless. Andy gave us instructions and off we went. We spend the day exploring coves and coastline of this beautiful lake. We arrived back to marina at the end of the day and they filled the gas tank up and we paid our bill at that time. They even made it to where we could split the bill! Thanks guys for the great experience!!

Dandridge Golf & Country Club

Reviewed By 72ogo - Maryville, Tennessee

I loved this course for many reasons.
Beautiful holes with well kept greens and fairways and 27 holes, we played all three 9's.
Interesting holes all with a different feel but no crazy holes with water and bunkers on most holes
Plenty long enough for most amateurs with some short par 4's for the long hitters that might get there in one.
Beautiful setting with an incredible view of the Smoky Mountains.
Very friendly staff that made me fell welcome.
A real kitchen with better than average golf course food and beautiful lady cooking the food.
The price is more than fair, you can pay a lot more for other courses in the Knoxville are that are not near this nice.
A short drive from Knoxville.
Ignore the review by some idiot that gave it a bad review saying it was a good course for beginners which is bull.
On Monday it was not very crowded and we played 27 in just over 4 hours with a 20 min break for lunch.
This was my first time and I loved the whole experience and will definitely play it as much as I can.
The only criticism I have is the same for most courses in this area there is not near enough sand in the bunkers, you have to play the shot more like a fairway shot or your club will bounce back into the ball. I opened my club face wide open and just slid under the ball which worked fairly well.
This course is plenty challenging for most of us fellow hackers and I highly recommend it. I live in Maryville about an hour away and it was well worth the drive.

This is a large antique shop and two art galleries located in a restored Federal style building built in 1820. It is located in a designated historic district among other similar buildings and receives many tourists and visitors to the Great Smoky Mountains.
