Kukke Subramanya is a Hindu temple located in the karnataka, In this temple Kartikeya is worshipped as Subramanya, lord of all serpents. The epics relate that the divine serpent Vasuki and other serpents found refuge under Subramanya when threatened by the Garuda. Overlooking the temple is the famous mountain of Kumara Parvatha, a popular hiking destination for trekkers from across South India. Kumara Parvatha forms a picture-perfect backdrop to the temple entrance and the Shesha Parvatha (a mountain shaped like a six-headed mythological serpent, adjacent to Kumara Parvatha) looks like a cobra with its open hood, as if protecting the temple shrine of Lord Subramanya. The temple is situated on the western slopes of the Ghats and is covered with dense evergreen forests Pilgrims going to the temple have to cross the Kumaradhara River and take a holy dip in the river before entering the temple for their darshan holy viewing of the Lord.

We started our journey from Mumbai on 25th Jan, we went to Manglore, from there we reached to kukke Subramanya temple by bus araund 11am. We started our trecking araund 11:30 am. It was a Sunday so there were so many people who were climbing dawn while we were climbing up. This was my first experience of trecking and staying in tent, that's why I was so excited.we went through dense forest it was amazing. Sounds of birds was attractive. We visit spring over there that was fabulous. We reached at Bhatt's house till 3 pm. We enjoyed meal there, fixed our tent and took rest for some time. At eve araund 5 pm we went sunset point we spent quality time there, took photographs, enjoyed nature's beuty, sat quietly. After that we had our dinner at Bhatt's house, hot sambar rice with pickel was really tasty. After dinner we enjoyed a fantastic view of sky......and slept nicely. On second day morning after breakfast araound 9:30 am we started climbing dawn and reached to kukke Subramanya temple araund 12 noon. Situated in the heart of the city this huge temple is a divine place. The smaller temples of Aiyappa, Anjaneya, Ganesha, Durga Parameswari & Chandramouleeswara add to the splendour. The Kaasi Bhageerathi theertha from where water can be collected & used for abhishekam of the Shiva lingam by devotees is so unique. A must experience place.

The temple is located in the heart of the city. Parking may be an issue but you can park your vehicle at the roadside. The goddess is one of the forms of Shakti. You get a positive energy after having Darshan here. Temple is clean and maintained. I visited during Corona time and all the Covid protocols were found to be followed.

Visited a temple in the morning. Very well maintained temple. Most of southern temples are clean and this is no exception. Ample space to accommodate multiple devotees at a same time. The water fountain inside temple is done beautifully. Best time to visit will be during Dussehra time when the entire temple will be decorated but be ready for heavy crowd. Good temple nearby surrounding and pear was amazing.

Sunset at Sasihithlu beach near Mulki (20kms north of Mangalore) is an ethereal experience one should not miss on a visit to Mangalore. Also known as the "surfers' paradise", this is one of the cleanest beaches in the district, where Shambhavi river meets the Arabian Sea. You will find very few tourists here other than those coming to learn surfing. There are some beautiful beach houses near the beach . Please enjoy the beautiful snaps taken on New Year eve.

Slightly out of the city, this is one beach which is unique for it's combination of White sands, rocks, temple and a lighthouse all in one place. The water and the beach itself is very clean and beautiful. It is not very crowded and doesn't have any shops or shacks encroaching the beach. That way it is serene and peaceful. They say that venturing deep into this sea is dangerous due to the rocks but outside no concerns otherwise. The rocks also help trap plenty of sea shells which children can collect. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, typical Dakshina kannada style albeit smaller and visited mostly by the locals. About15kms outside of Mangaluru centre, this beach is not to be missed.
