Most rear proteus, sub-spices from the well known white proteus. You will learn all about it in a very educational walk-through. Definitely a must see if you are traveling through Bela Krajina.

We explored Lahinja Landscape Park on our own. First we went to village Belčji Vrh - from there it’s 5-10 min easy walk to the River Lahinja Spring. Then we went to Pusti Gradec - from the parking it takes about 5 min easy walk to the river Lahinja. Nature here is beautiful, but from here it’s not possible to access the church on the peninsula on foot. However, if you’re lucky you might be able to go for a row around the peninsula - it’s spectacular. Btw - review of 15 Aug 2020 is a riview of another point if interest (River Krupa Spring) that is not part of Lahinja Landscape Park.

Church of Holy Spirit in Črnomelj was first mentioned in year 1487. It was renovated in 2007 and is currently the main cultural building in old city center. It is hiding a lot of historical secrets, from neolitic to modern age.
The atmosphere of Bela krajina was already praised by the Ancient Romans who spread the Mithraic mysteries only to special spots. Feel the connection with the eons of history by the mysterious altar in Rožanc, in the centre of the forest, dedicated to the Persian god of a light. The relief shows Mithra killing the bull and changing the universe.
Sodevska stena viewpoint is a great spot above Kolpa river.
The former Maleričeva house in the old town core of Črnomelj was renamed into the Primožičeva house and is dedicated to the teacher and cultural worker, Josipina Pepca Primožič. Her life was infused with a deep sense of humanity and generosity. The house has been declared a cultural monument of local importance and has now been used for temporary arts and crafts exhibitions and workshops.
