Located just over the Belgian border from France in the middle of the Ardennes, this is an excellent site for history lovers, especially for those well read on World War II. On the eve of the Fall of France, Hitler and his staff came and stayed here. You park the car on the side of the road and walk down a mulch path to the bunker welcome center where a short film is shown (available in French with Dutch, English subtitles-German and others available too I think) which gives you a good overview of the surrounding area and what happened here. There are also photos from when the Germans occupied the area. Site includes a pathway to a reenactment of a resistance bunker, the original bunker built for Hitler and his staff, and a memorial exhibit to the resistance and Belgian soldiers who fought in WWII. You can also go back up the path to the remaining buildings in the village to see a few of them-including the church, there's also a strip of grass where the runway was and some heavy undergrowth where a pillbox bunker was. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Well worth the visit, from here it was easy to proceed east or to the southeast towards Bastogne or Luxembourg, respectively. Can also head west/southwest and you're in France within minutes. Peaceful area.
