Corydon is a town in Harrison Township, Harrison County, Indiana. Located north of the Ohio River in the extreme southern part of the U.S. state of Indiana, it is the seat of government for Harrison County. Corydon was founded in 1808 and served as the capital of the Indiana Territory from 1813 to 1816. It was the site of Indiana's first constitutional convention, which was held June 10–29, 1816. Forty-three convened to consider statehood for Indiana and drafted its first state constitution. Under Article XI, Section 11, of the Indiana 1816 constitution, Corydon was designated as the capital of the state until 1825, when the seat of state government was moved to Indianapolis. During the American Civil War, Corydon was the site of the Battle of Corydon, the only official pitched battle waged in Indiana. More recently, the town's numerous historic sites have helped it become a tourist destination. A portion of its downtown area is listed in the National Register of Historic Places as the Corydon Historic District. As of the 2010 census, Corydon had a population of 3,122.

And, if you like sweet wines, we have a twist for you -- no sugar added, the international standard for making wine! Sweetness naturally from the grapes provides a clean, refreshing, fruit forward taste that's easy to enjoy. For dry wine folks, we've got you covered too! Through intricate barrel aging and blending, we are bringing back to your taste buds traditional styles of excellence from days gone by, including non-vintage wines!International award winning wine, incredibly detailed winery tours, a friendly staff interested in finding wines you like, picnic areas and wine appreciation classes and first class concerts on Sundays provide a lot of enjoyment and knowledge to you. Find out why Jim Pfeiffer, owner, winemaker, and professor of wine, figured out in the 1980's that Southern Indiana was the place to be to grow wonderful grapes to make exceptional quality wine that goes with food and friends!
Jim is the most knowledgable person I have ever talked to about wine. Love the fact he doesn't add sugar to his wine. When I drink Turtle Run wine I feel like I'm drinking something healthy. All the wines I tried and bought were really good and I will definitely be back.

The campsites are right on top of each other. They crammed to many campsites into this area. If you like horses it's great, but many of the trails are covered in horse stuff. Most of the kids run wild with little or no supervision, and at night, few people walk with flashlights. The playground had beer poured down the slides, and beer bottles and cans liter the place. I call it a redneck getaway.

I was in town wasting time and wanted to stop in. It was full of great antiques...real antiques. I bet I spent over 1 1/2 hours in there. It's 3 stories. I kept taking things to the counter thinking I was probably done. Nice items, beautiful furniture, clean and not junky at all. I loved that about this Antique Mall. Set up so well. Not sure if they have strong rules about clutter or what but they are doing a grand job. So much enjoyed my visit and a very nice lady working behind the counter.
Great job!!!!

I just happened to be in the area and decided to stop there to read the markers, etc. It's well maintained and worth a quick stop if you are nearby. It's also the only actual Civil War battle to take place on Indiana soil. That being said there isn't much to see there. And any rate, it's just a few minutes away from the historic downtown district if you really want to say you have been there.

The Hayswood Nature Preserve consists of 162.92 acres of which half is wooded and half is open for recreation facilities. Enjoy picnicking, trails, fishing, and more.
We walk our dogs at this park on the lower end. Paved bicycle paths into the wooded area make this a nice place to walk quietly. Plenty of room to have picnics on the upper end with several picnic tables and a play area for children with swings. A good family place

The one lene road leading from IN 62 may be a little tricky if you run into someone, but it's worth the visit. I especially liked the apple strawberry wine. Nice well stocked wine shop, too.

The Harrison County Discovery Center is more than a local history museum. It is an innovative, immersive and interactive facility with something for all ages and interests. Topics include natural history, caves, native americans and early settlers, Morgan's Raid, the community in the Civil War and early education.
WOW! What a great place! This is a very high tech hands on experience where you will have fun while learning about local history, science, and more. Great for all ages.

The Artisan Center has had excellent gallery showings of art. The gallery itself is quant, very good for showings. I like that they have such an eclectic taste/variety of displays. I also like that they showcase the talents of local artists.

We walked in the door and was greeted with a big hello and being asked where we were from. They really seemed to be interested to hear about us. We talked a little bit about where we are from and they told us a little bit about their town. Really enjoyed talking to them.
The small shop is well organized with an easy flow. They offered antiques, collectibles, vintage jewelry, retro kitchen items (one of my favorites), holiday items, vintage hats, furniture, rustic items, wall art, and much more. I walked out with a couple of kitchen items (I'm going to need a bigger kitchen).
