Kingsdown Golf Club was founded in 1880. It is the oldest golf club in Wiltshire and the second oldest in the West Country, outliving all but twelve English clubs. It has a reputation as a friendly club and the course is a test for even the most skilful of golfers. Parts of the course boast spectacular views from Kingsdown’s heathland hilltop across the valley of Box, Colerne and into Bath.
A well run club with superb views over the channel. Footage the clubhouse is excellent and the facilities well maintained. Prices reasonable. Well recommended.

The two ladies on duty could not have been more helpful and they really knew their stuff. The schoolroom/chapel is fascinating. They also took me out to view that almshouses which were still in use. From their records they were able to locate the early 20th century resident I was interested in. It makes it so much more real to have stood where she stood.

Had the pleasure of walking around the grounds. Absolute pleasure. Why anyone would leave a terrible review is beyond me! Remember also it's a home too, manned by volunteers. With greatest of respect, reviewers should put themselves in to another point of view before leaving a scathing review such as this at such a terrible time for the leisure industry. Remember, those volunteers or employed staff, many are of an age where taking the risk is too much to ask. I would urge you to retract your review or consider the whole picture before leaving reviews like this in the future!
