Cornelia is a city in Habersham County, Georgia, United States. The population was 4,160 at the 2010 census, up from 3,674 at the 2000 census. It is home to one of the world's largest apple sculptures, which is displayed on top of an obelisk-shaped monument. Cornelia was the retirement home of baseball legend Ty Cobb who was born nearby, and was a base of operation for production of the 1956 Disney film The Great Locomotive Chase that was filmed along the Tallulah Falls Railway that ran from Cornelia northward along the rim of Tallulah Gorge to Franklin, North Carolina.

What beautiful lights - lots of lights packed into a relatively small area. Every year I look forward to the Christmas lights at the Cornelia Park. This obviously takes A LOT of effort to erect and disassemble... MUCH APPRECIATED too! If you're in the area at Christmas time, take a few minutes to drive through the park & enjoy the beautiful & whimsical display of lights.

Chenocetah Tower is the only granite fire tower in all of Georgia! The tower offers magnificent views of Lake Russell and other surrounding areas! It is a great place for a picnic, or just a nice place to surround yourself with nature.

I love this little town. The Depot train museum gives quite a bit of history about the area And you learn why it's the big red apple There's a nice waterpark for the kids A train engine for the kids to look at the inside and climb on And you can walk to restaurants The depot at the big red apple also has local crafts We always take friends here when they visit

The Historic Train Museum in Downtown Cornelia shows the history of the Tallulah Falls Railroad Shortline. A tour guide will walk you through the museum and describe the history of the city, as well as the railroad as you admire all the archives.
