Lakrids by Johan Bulow. Ready for take off? Once upon a time in 2007 on the small Danish island of Bornholm, there was a young man who worked so hard to bring his idea to life: He wanted to create the world's best liquorice. Nothing less. His name is Johan Bulow, and today you can buy Lakrids by Johan Bulow in gourmet shops in Denmark, a few places in New York and London, and you can also find his own shops in Tivoli and Magasin. Johan Bulow has from the beginning been trying to raise awareness of liqourice. Not only for sweets, but also as a gourmet experience. With the new shop – placed where the whole world meet, the ambition of spreading his love for liquorice worldwide should be within reach. The shop has the full range - both sweet and salt liqourice, liqourice coated in chocolate, liqurorice syrup and powder, last but not least the sticks as the entire adventure began with. We look forward to give you a taste of the black magic. But beware. It can be highly addictive.

This historic castle was constructed on three islands and is surrounded by lake and beautiful gardens. Frederiksborg Castle has housed The Museum of National History since 1878. A tour through the museum's many beautiful rooms is an encounter with kings, queens, nobles, the bourgeois, events, and epochs, which have all shaped the country's history and development from the Middle Ages to the 21st century. The museum was founded by brewer J.C. Jacobsen, the founder of Carlsberg.
I highly recommend spending half a day to a full day exploring the castle & the impeccable gardens surround the castle afterwards. Entry includes a very good audio guide which allows you to explore the castle's many rooms at your own pace. The castle is now a museum so expect to review a good history lesson in Danish culture too. Make sure you allow enough time to go to gardens behind the castle & take in the stunning view. If the weather/time permits, you can also take a ride on a small boat around the moat & lake that surrounds the castle

Excellent science museum, everything was hands-on and interactive for children. Really interesting exhibits. The sensory tunnel and film were very good. The kids loved the construction zone and the bubble area. The cafe was nice but very expensive. Entry and transport to the museum was free with our Copenhagen cards.

The Louisiana Museum of Modern Art collection focuses on contemporary works from 1945 to the present. Works by Pablo Picasso, Jean Dubuffet and Louise Bourgeois are part of the permanent exhibition at this white villa named Louise, after the first (and second and third) wife of the man who commissioned the building.
The location alone makes this worth the trip (about 30- 40 minutes from central Copenhagen). The restaurant has a great buffet option which was delicious but very expensive. Great exhibitions, a lively children’s centre with different activities and beautiful gardens to walk through. We visited this museum after visiting Kronborg Castle and it was very easy (train to Kronborg then a local bus to the museum and finally train back to Copenhagen) all included with the Copenhagen card - well worth the money.

Temporarily closed. Kronborg is a must-see! “Hamlet’s Castle” is a magnificent experience with soaring towers, a huge ballroom, damp casemates and just 40 minutes from Copenhagen. At the narrowest neck of the sound, between Denmark and Sweden, the medieval fortress merges with the magnificent Renaissance castle and there are few sites in the world where so much drama and history is gathered in one place. Mythical hero Holger the Dane’s mighty sword meets Shakespeare’s equally mighty pen, as the spirit of Hamlet glides through the castle. No wonder this extraordinary place is on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. From June to August, Kronborg comes to life! Hamlet and his family take up residence in the castle and as you explore the castle, you will tumble right into the story. The fate of Hamlet unfolds before your very eyes. This interactive live performance that will play out daily during opening hours of Kronborg Castle.
Only a short distance from Copenhagen by train to Helsingør town. Very great castle, Unesco World Heritage site and the original place of Hamlet story. The castle is renaissance style. There are royal apartments, ballroom, casemates, chapel, tapestries, fortress...There are also a café and a very nice restaurant.

Its located in north of Copenhagen in a quiet peaceful countryside. It's a very amazing place specially for those who love nature and antique. The trees are more than 100 years old and even if they fall from age no one will touch them. There are around 2000 deers, you can see them when they fight or run. There is also old castle which is left untouched for 350 years. Generally it's amazing place I every see in copenhagen.

During this era religion played a central role in people's lives and this place is a testimony to it. No expense was spared, people devoted fortune, energy, skill and diligent time and talent to making this place that cannot be found in any of today's modern structures. One could spend a whole day in here just appreciating every nook and cranny, every attention to every conceivable detail of this striking feature of the castle. A true showcase of human talent and devotion. As the saying goes: they don't make them today like they used to.
