Yes, the museum is basic, staff don’t speak English an it’s dusty but, there are some great artifacts here that would normally be in a wealthy museum ie from the Roman Period. Quite rare and amazing including the only bust of Consul Marcus Petronius Sura Mamertinus in existence. He was the son in law of Emperor Marcus Aurelius.

A beautiful, beautiful building, once the glory of the city, completely abandoned by the city officials due to corruption. Hopefully it will survive.

A landmark of the Turkish role in the region, The Mosque of Constanta was built in 1910. It features a 50 meter high (160 ft.) lookout with spectacular views of the surrounding area including the Black Sea.
The Mosque is open to the public and visitors are graciously allowed to peruse inside and if they feel up to it, walk the up the narrow circular stairway to the observation deck atop the Minaret where they can gain a panoramic view of Constanta and the Black Sea. It is worth the effort to get that view!

Built in 2004 this attraction is a wonderful addition to the sights of the beach front of the Black Sea. It costs one way 20 lei per rider one way of 2 km. The view is amazing at night with all the twinkling of assorted lights from up close and afar as far as your eyes could see in the warmth of the sea breezes. I venture to say it would be much better during daylight hours but also the waiting time to travel. Our time was around 22:30pm and we were first in line. Pleasant and amusing time.

We visited the entire complex in one day. The dolphin show was really entertaining and fun for both kids and adults. There were 2 dolphin which performed during a show of about 30 min. The Planetarium also offered a great show and we also had the opportunity to listed to the General Manger who made a presentation. The zoo is bigger than I expected. Among the animals at the zoo you an see llamas, Mongolian horses, Patagonian maras, emus and a wide variety of wild and tropical birds.
