I've organized group trips with Indian River Marina both for company outings and for groups of personal friends. Chris and his staff were super easy to work with to organize group trips; they were very accommodating, efficient, helpful and pleasant! I would highly recommend planning a group trip with Indian River Marina!

Luckily I spend time in Madison several times a year and RJ Julia's is always a highlight. The selection beats all for fiction, the staff recommendations are spot on and I always find titles I've not come across in my book adventures. I have to limit my visits or my annual book budget will be blown. I read e books but nothing compares to a wonderful paper book from RJ Julia

This state park has multiple trails to hike. The Covered Bridge trail was a moderately difficult trail with changes in elevation, rocks and roots. Scenery was nice, plenty of spots to get back on the park road, sit for a while or use the porta potty. A great place to picnic or swim too. Nature Center is only open on weekends and holidays.

Essex Steam Train & Riverboat

Take one or both tours in combination for a delightful sightseeing excursion through some of the most scenic areas of Connecticut: scenic train ride in restored railroad cars pulled by a coal-fired locomotive and a ride up the Connecticut River by riverboat.

First class car definitely worth the upgrade. Very spacious and comfortable. Santa and friends each visited with every child. There was a sing alone at the end and the entire crew was super friendly.

This outlet mall is conveniently located off I-95 in Westbrook. You'll find the standard variety of stores and a few places to eat. Parking is plentiful. I wouldn't make a special trip here hoping to get bargains. It's a mall disguised as an outlet center. I haven't seen a true outlet center in decades.

Don't get me wrong, this is a wonderful place for couples, family reunions, weddings - but this is the place my friend and I typically meet up - convenient to the her in Providence and myself in Southern CT. The setting is lovely, you can walk the vineyard, parking is plentiful, and the folks handling the Bistro are friendly and provide excellent service. Food is wonderful - try the Camembert appetizer, set in a puff pastry, with salted caramel...too big to eat alone. The French Fries are also wonderful. In terms of wine, I only like white - so I recommend the Stone Cold White, and the Riesling.
