Great Museum. Lots to look at. The gal inside answered all our questions since the Visitors Center was closed. The owner was very friendly and she gave us an updated map to all the statues in town, also instructions on how to get to the Kaskaskia Bell and some history of Popeye while we were there. Only negative..........they weren't wearing masks so we were just a wee bit uncomfortable.

Very picturesque bridge which is part of a picnic area a couple miles outside of town. Easy to get to as it is directly from main road. Went there on a weekday and nobody else was there. Has public bathroom but be aware... the graffiti in the bathrooms is very explicit.

The visitor center was closed because of Covid but you can still get your pic with Popeye and step on the deck to see great views of the river and the bridge.

We took a drive to see the pretty fall colors in the leaves, and ended up in St. Mary's, MO. Just over the bridge and along a country road, we came into the town of Kaskaskia. This is a small town with lots of history. Everything was freshly mowed, so it was very easy walking around. We didn't have an appointment to go inside, but it was still a peaceful little place to visit.
