Old Town

After being leveled when the Nazis left, this whole neighborhood of cobblestone Gothic streets and alleyways, baroque palaces, numerous churches and tiered burghers' houses were masterfully reconstructed to reflect the atmosphere of bygone days.

Old Town is a charming place to go, two square markets and main streets with bars and restaurants, many calm narrow streets where you can stroll for hours without bunch of tourists - especially Brzozowa street, Piwna street, Piesza street.

Lazienki Krolewskie w Warszawie

The Royal Łazienki was King Stanisław August’s summer residence, in which a classicist architecture is harmoniously blended with its natural surroundings featuring fabulous gardens

Reviewed By 146andrzejz

This is the most popular site-seeing spot in Warsaw, a real must! Fantastically located on two levels of terrain and on the slope between them. It is actually an English garden with several-hundert years old trees, artificial lakes and cannals, picturesque “Palace on the water” (the residence of the last Polish king) and all the historical buildings beautifully composed into the terrain and park, delivering many spots of an unusual beauty (for example: a magnificient view from the bridge on the channel on the lake and a slope crowned with classical Belweder building). All this makes Łazienki a natural destination for all the first-time visitors to Warsaw and a perfect leasure place for the people living here. In my opinion, its perfect for a nice one-hour-stroll or if you have more time, just take a seat on one of the benches and imagine yourself the 18th century king playing cards or just having a walk. You may also consider entering Palace on the Water - a museum. If you are interested in the Polish history there is a lot to learn here if not just enjoy!

Manufaktura

An attraction for tourists, a hangout for Łodz residents, heaven for gourmets and renowned brand lovers, a place full of life and positive energy - Manufaktura has very quickly become the city’s flagship, as recognisable as Piotrkowska Street. Today it is hard to picture Łodz without Manufaktura. With no beach in the summer, no kermis and ice rink in the winter, no concerts in the market square or tasty evenings in local restaurants. Manufaktura means: museums, cinema, theatre, a quarter of a thousand boutiques and stores, playgrounds for the youngest, fitness club, a few dozens restaurants and cafes. But its centre is the over 3 ha large Łodz Women Textile Workers Market Square, which serves as a friendly public space. Here cultural and entertainment events are organised, attracting both residents and tourists. Here the Europe’s longest fountain illuminates the darkness with colours and envelops superbly designed recreational areas in its murmur.

Hotels rarely exceed my expectations. This one is awesome in the real sense of the word. One of the dilapidated buildings in the complex of a former factory has been renovated to a very high standard. Some walls have been left raw, and the metal skeleton of building is visible. Daylight penetrates four storeys through beautiful skylights and the wells are a major feature of modern architecture of outstanding calibration, with both style and functionality. Beautiful furniture and soft furnishings represent those that people once made in the factory. Lovely room, good service, fabulous breakfast. The restaurant is one of the best in Łódź. No need to go far to start enjoying the city. Just step outside into the Manufaktura complex. Street food, fountains, cafes, bars, restaurants, a spacious, airy shopping mall gathering all brands, Polish and international, Cinema City in a city that’s UNESCO protected for its ongoing contribution to cinema, a world-class museum of modern art.... and much more. Excellent hotel, fascinating city.

Kadzielnia Park and Nature Reserve

Kadzielnia is Kielce’s most famous old quarry. The area, as the Kadzielnia Park and Reserve, covers about 14 ha. The central part of Kadzielnia, the Skałka Geologów (Geologists’ Rock) is under legal protection as an inanimate nature reserve. The remaining part of the area is protected within the Kielce Protected Landscape Area. It is worth mentioning and emphasizing that in the vicinity of the reserve is located, among others, the famous amphitheater, where numerous entertainment events take place. A new and very interesting attraction in this area is the Underground Tourist Route. Kadzielnia is a place with an interesting history, rich resources of animated nature, but most of all, a place that you must visit when you are in Kielce. You can spend a nice time here, relaxing while walking among the rocks, where the history of the tropical sea from hundreds of millions of years ago has been recorded.

The Living Museum of Gingerbread

The Living Museum of Gingerbreads in Torun is the first so interactive museum in Europe. It has existed since 2006 and it is located at 9 Rabianska street, in the middle of the city center. It all takes place in the Medieval Bakery under the watchful eyes of Gingerbread Master. Visitors prepare dough by themselves and bake their own gingerbreads. Another floor is a manufacturing room from the early 20th century where we teach how to decorate gingerbreads with an icing. We welcome all those who want to learn about the tradition of baking gingerbreads in Torun and its medieval culture. All of this happens in a fantastic atmosphere with a great deal of humor.
