I love this place, they have women's clothes, purses and in a small area it has yarn and wool, and then in a larger room is supplies for farming and horses. The place is amazing when I go I'm there for at least 2 hrs, so much to see. Great place for gifts for kids up. Price range isn't too bad. Anything and everything for horses, blanket, shoes, bits. Now clothes are priced high but they do have sales.

We enjoy the Beckwith Trail throughout the year. The path is easy to walk on in Spring, Summer and Fall. It’s a beautiful place to cross country ski in the winter. There are wonderful views and friendly people who also enjoy the trail. We highly recommend this nature adventure.

We booked this incredible place for a low-impact paintball shoot 'em up for our son's 11th birthday party. Fantastic experience for his buds, both male and female, as well as the parents who wanted to play. The staff is extremely well organized, the instructors top-notch... a fantastic adrenaline rush with so many stories to tell afterwards! So much so that one of the other families immediately booked their child's party there a week later. Great fun for all ages!

The Carleton Place and Beckwith Heritage Museum is located in a heritage designated stone building. Built in 1872 as the Town Hall, it was converted to Victoria School in 1879. It served as a public school until 1969. Murals on the building tell its story as a municipal building and include prisoners in the jail cell and students from the past! Visit us to learn about the Township of Beckwith, first surveyed in 1816, and the community of Carleton Place founded in 1819 on the banks of the Mississippi River.Learn about our lumber industry, textile mills and strong military connections. Did you know Carleton Place is the home of Roy Brown, credited with shooting down the Red Baron in 1918? While on site, be sure to visit the Victoria School garden and "Walk the Path" at the Community Labyrinth, located behind the Museum.
This was my first time partaking in the cemetery walking tour with the museum and I was so impressed! The curator, Jennifer speaks very well and has put together a collection of interesting, sometimes heart wrenching stories of locals who have passed. Our group attended the evening session, which added an element of spook for those who want to enjoy the Halloween season. Jennifer added some special touches to the tour - candy from one of the stories, had a volunteer do a dowsing interaction which participants were encouraged to try, and a historical performance from a fantastic volunteer. The night ended with cider and treats. It was a well planned out evening which left participants planning to come back with friends next year.

Interactive training tours three times a week (Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 1:30 until 2:30 pm.) Parrot Partners Canada is a registered charity that specializes in the rehabilitation, training and adoption of parrots. We also educate the public on the plight of parrots both in our homes and in their natural habitats. Some of the parrot species in our care are threatened in their native habitats and during our tours we discuss the reasons and what we can do to help. Under the direction of our tour guides and trainers, participants help us maintain the socialization and training of our permanent residents as well as that of our adoptable parrots.
I have volunteered at Parrot Partners Canada (PPC) for over two years and recommend the aviary as a wonderful place for families to visit. PPC sets a very high bio-standard for parrot care ensuring proper diet and nutrition, bio-hygiene, and appropriate behavioral interaction and education. Anyone who loves birds will love PPC.
