Buxtehude (German pronunciation: [bʊkstəˈhuːdə]) is a town on the Este River in Northern Germany in the district of Stade and part of the Hamburg Metropolitan Region (Metropolregion Hamburg). Buxtehude is a steadily growing medium-sized town and the second largest in the district of Stade. It lies on the southern borders of the Altes Land within easy reach of the city-state of Hamburg. West of it are the towns of Horneburg and Stade and to the south there are incorporated villages offering mostly upscale housing, e.g. Ottensen and Apensen.

A great little bar serving a selection of beers, cocktails and tapas. Friendly staff and patrons to chat to.

This family friendly wildlife park has animal exhibits, a petting zoo and daily air show with birds. Daily feedings include otters, badgers and raccoons. There is also a park and a playground. Take a night hike with kids over age 6.
After a delicious brunch in the restaurant, we entered into the park - 6 adults and 3 children (in a 'Bollerwagen' each). We are always delighted and happy to be here. This time it was helped by the weather improving steadily throughout the day. We had a Bratwurst stop in the craft area and then spent quite a lot of time in the play area. The rides are great (and not expensive at 1 Euro a go).

Miniatur Wunderland is the world’s largest model train exhibit, and still growing. See trains running through recreations of Hamburg and the coast, Austria, the Grand Canyon and Scandinavia.
A fascinating miniature world, created with so much finesse, attention to detail, wittiness, and good for an unforeseeable surprise. It is an attraction for young and old, for families, dates, or spare some time by yourself. Take some time and dive into this world and soak in the adventures of the miniature people in a shrunken world.

Lovely place with chances to experience our past, where our ancestors shared house with their life-stock.

This part of the beach at the river Elbe is very nice, clean and ideal for young children to play in the water. Behind the beach there is a really nice playground for young children to play and for older ones to play football or beach volleyball. All kind of ships will pass on the river like container ships, cruiser and sailing boats.
The bar has a very nice feeling of caribou, holidays and sand. I love being here. They used to offer only drinks which are fine. Last time I had a Mojito which was a bit too much taste of rum otherwise fine. Their expansion to food is average. The pizzas are frozen. And I think a bit too pricey over the last year. The salads are nice. Last I had the prawn salad and I can recommend it. Food is too expensive.
The service is friendly. And don't forget in the first instance this is a bar. And for that it is great. The locality is used by regional TV for cooking show. Great place

We have been coming to Badebucht for four years now. Our eight year old daughter absolutely loves playing here. The facilities are excellent and the staff are very friendly. We visited during the last two weeks of May 2013. My daugther loves participating in the swimming awards. This time she managed to achieve a pirate award :>
Cannot recommend a visit to this fantastic swimming pool.

This is a lovely old fashioned theatre with great service and a good variety of shows. Here I have seen one of the best comedy shows ever.
It's located amongst many restaurants, bars, shops and other theatres in St Pauli and easily reached by public transport.

Walk the staircase area in the Blankenese neighborhood. The winding streets and hills offer Elbe views.
The Treppenviertel is a beautiful quarter consisting of small winding paths leading through the scenic hillside of Blankenesee. It is a lovely place for a quiet walk to take in the amazing views and amazing Gardens. There are a lot of stairs (as the name implies) but you can choose longer or shorter routes depending on your requirements. It also makes for a lovely place for runners to push themselves by attempting a run along the river and then up into the town.
