At the Washington County Rural Heritage Museum you will learn about our region's beginnings and history; in addition to how the rural and agricultural heritage continues to play a role in Washington County today. he museum grounds consist of three 7,200 square-foot metal buildings, and an outdoor homestead and village of authentic period buildings from the 1800's. Exhibits range from those depicting early rural life prior to 1940, large pieces of farm equipment and farm implements; and in our newest building with local modes of transportation, most dating prior to 1940. Several events are held on the grounds throughout the year. One of our most popular is Spudfest, spotlighting the potato! Potatoes are harvested late summer by a horse-drawn plow and children can "get dirty" picking the crop. Other popular events are the Spring & Winter Holiday Open House, Apple Fest, and Country Breakfast Buffet. Open Saturday and Sunday 1:00pm-4:00pm

I’ve visited Boonsboro multiple times and always visit Turn the Page as I’m an avid Nora fan. Because I’ve visited so many times I have most things re Nora that I want (I won’t say “need”, you know what I mean). This time I found several cards in the lower room that were just right as well as something for my 30 something daughter’s upcoming birthday. It’s always worth a visit and I never leave empty handed.

This was one of the spot we visited while touring the area. A nice little park with conveniences. It was easy to see that there had been a great amount of rain rising the creek quite a bit. Although it was raining the day we were there, the water level was not a factor.

Easiest place to park would be appalachian trailhead parking lot. Start the trail there and where you hit the .25 marker, make a left. Great views. Went during a weekday so ample parking.

A forty-minute guided tour through brilliantly lighted chambers features the history, formations and geological aspects of the caverns.
There is an abundance of the most amazing formations in this small cavern. Well worth making the trip. I've seen Grand Caverns, Endless Caverns, Luray Caverns, Skyline and Shenandoah. This one exceeds what they have to offer. Not just your average ol' stalagmites here. And our tour guide was knowledgeable and personable. We had a great time! P.S. My companion is 6 ft 5 inches and he struggled in some spots...

We just did three days at Greenbrier. We loved it. Beautiful setting in forested rolling hills. Great hiking an mountain biking trails. Trails from moderate to strenuous. You can hike .6 miles to AT if you desire. Beautiful lake for swimming. Very popular with the local population. Good day tripping to Antietam and other state parks near by. Lots of history. Nice camping sights... We definitely will go back
