This small museum does not overwhelm, but gives an interesting look at Belle Époque life and style, with particular emphasis on Blankenberge. The surrounding area is full of delightful properties, and I’d have happily paid several euros for a decent booklet giving a guided tour. We had asked at the tourist board about a booklet with a walk in, and were kindly given a walking tour of war sites: the lady meant well. We managed to put together our own walk from the 750 leaflet, but it’s a huge sheet with info on both sides and was difficult in the wind! Only as we were leaving did we see a small brass plate on the pavement that might have been a BE route!

Amazing how friendly, charming and hospitable the hosts are, amidst this extremely touristic surrounding - as the house and the way they have succeeded to keep it alive is a precious jewel in between the surrounding concrete-and-glass condos. Congratulations to Pieter and Lena!

A nostalgic, romantic and beautiful place, where you can see older fishermen coincide with playing children and young parents. It's a wonderful landmark that I absolutely love. We had a view on it from our apartment, and every morning it made me happy seeing it.

Had a really enjoyable 90 minutes at this attraction! I was very pleased to see such a variety in different reptiles and amphibians, including venemous snakes like the black mamba and arachnids. Signs were informative and had translations. The reptiles are kept in very good conditions and vivariums are clean and very well presented. I’m not sure why so many people are complaining about tank size, for the requirements of the individual species they have more then enough space! Would defiantly recommend if you’re into animals. Though I will warn anyone who suffers from claustrophobia or anxiety that it may be worth visiting out of holiday seasons, as it can get a bit crowded and noisy in there.
