Whenever you are visiting Northern Holland, the movie theatre in Bergen (close to Alkmaar) is worth a visit. It is situated beautifully in the forest. It has different movies every day with a seating capacity for 100 people. It is very cosy, old style. You can have a drink and a snack from the bar and is allowed to be taken into the movie. Halfway there is a break to replenish on the beverages. It is a 10 minute walk from the centre of Bergen.

Bootjesverhuur Bij "Go with the Flo'ot" kunt u bootjes huren. De motorbootjes varen 9-10 km per uur. Om de dag echt compleet te maken kunnen wij voor een picknickmand zorgen. Geniet van de prachtige Flora en Fauna in de Berger- en Egmondermeer. U kunt ook naar Alkmaar varen en zo een schitterende ronde door de Alkmaarse grachten maken. Graag informeren wij u voor een geschikte en mooie route.

The village of Bergen in the North of Holland is a place of repose and chique. Villas bordering rich forests and vast open fields, are food for the soul, for they at a time had been built out of a certain celebratory reverence to nature. Same goes for the Kranenburgh Museum. Onto a patrician home, in the sixtees still a poppy art-studio , wings were added to house a vast collection of turn of the centurty back to nature painting nd sculpting.. with clearr transparant Coffee and cacke? Lunch ? Repose and seethe wind touch the high pines surrounding this museum? Its not going to get better then this place, this I can guarantee you. About Berghen: young artists, not only from Holland but also Eastern Europe via Paris, made this once upona a time rural enclave, an artisian Utopia and a place of recluse from the obious horror of modern time : the first world war. A return to nature and movement away from modernism can be witnessed in much portraiture, many stillives, and rural landscapes embracing the odd barn or person.. the healing force of nature is reckognizably present in the vast collection of this relatively young museum. Kranenburgh is celebrating its quarter of a century celebration this year, as it was set up by local artists 25 years ago to honour the Bohemian Utopia Bergen once was. Still, many artists born in Bergen a generation back return and produce because there really is no place like home. If you are a lover of architecture, aside from art, funshopping and nature at is most extravagant, Bergen is worth a visit just as well! Take your time and breathe in some real Co2!
