Restaurants in Bastia

Quite unassuming from the outside, but inside it is all grandeur. Beautiful ceiling, large pipe organ and gorgeous marble detailing.

The Old Port in Bastia is alive with Restaurants, it is so qaint with all the boats it can be a little unsteady in places with the cobbled stones so best ware flat footware! there is a stand where you can book boat trips out which i think for the adventurous (and young adults) would be really good fun! for us oldies lol it was just so lovely admiring the Culture, and the old buildings and achitecture! and enjoying the whole ambience, the Restaurants i didnt think were as expensive as i had been led to believe ( lots of seafood, italian ect)

We'd never travelled as foot passengers on a ferry before - how easy was that?! Very straightforward and quick!( Though we do wonder why our bags were security scanned travelling from Nice to Bastia though not for the return trip). When we travelled ( June) plenty of seating for passengers - we did not pay for Pullman type seats. One thing that we disliked ( a lot!) was the fact that dog owners were allowed to bring their dogs into public areas eg bars, restaurants, where some people thought it was OK for them to sit on seats. And on a five hour trip, inspite of ' pet sanitary areas' being available on the top deck, some dogs were allowed to urinate and defecate ( in the bar and on outside decks!). Disgusting.
