We stayed in an airbnb only minutes away from this attractive and tranquil park so close to the water. The park is used by early morning dog walkers, and it's always a delight to see parents and their children playing together as a family .There are plenty of benches if you want to sit and read your holiday novel, and the public conveniences are a plus for us senior citizens. Simply safe and encourages well-being.

I’m new to the area and this is my first time to the bar, and am so glad we came! We ordered cocktails and some bar snacks. The arancini and hot chips were yummy and the cocktails delicious. Even better the service! The staff were efficient, friendly and attentive and the vibe was really relaxed with great music. Can’t wait to come back !

We found this park by accident and ended up spending the afternoon there. Secluded at the end of cul de sac with a beautiful views over the harbour and several picnic spots. Ancient old trees and interesting information plaques scattered throughout the park acknowledging the first nation people and their life in the area. You can get there by ferry as there is a designated platform, also a free small car park if you chose to drive there.

The neighborhood of Balmain is easily reached by a lovely ferry ride. Has a village feel and is not touristy. We got an insiders tip from a Sydney friend that this a nice neighborhood to see if you have already seen the major sights in Sydney and we heartily agree. From the ferry stop, it is a relatively steep mile walk up the main street. We had a nice beer at the London hotel which has great outdoor seating facing Darling Street as the sun was setting. Delightful!

We did this walk in two sections on different days at a leisurely pace. It is a very scenic walk that takes you past many areas of historical interest. We enjoyed the reminders of Tom Uren's life and his many contributions to the local area and further afield. The maritime heritage of Balmain was of particular interest and we loved the narrow, half-hidden streets that we were led down. The variety of architectural styles in the area was delightful. The walk is indicated by timber posts with a carving of Tom's hat on top. While this generally worked well, there were times when we felt that more guidance would have been useful. Be sure to photograph the map of the route and you won't go wrong. If you would like to explore Balmain this is an ideal way to do so.
