The American Airpower Museum is Non-Profit 501C3 Aviation Museum and State Chartered Educational Foundation. A unique Museum in that many of the historic Aircraft are operational and fly regularly during the spring and summer months. The Museum is located at historic Republic Airport in Farmingdale NY. The Airport established back in the 1920s by Fairchild and Grumman Aviation. Eventually the home of Seversky Aviation during the 1930s it would evolve into Republic Aviation in 1939. In 1941 Republic produced the P-47 Thunderbolt which would go on to be the most mass produced fighter of WWII with over 15,000 built. Republic would go on to build the F-84, F-105, and A-10 Fighter Aircraft all right here in Long Island NY. Today the American Airpower Museum calls one of the last three surviving Republic Hangars home.
This awesome museum is located on the Republic Airport, the former airfield of the famous Republic Aviation Corporation, at Farmingdale, Long Island, New York. It has a remarkable collection of historic combat aircraft, many of them in actual flight condition, that usually perform at air...MoreThanks for taking the time to write a review. We are so glad you enjoyed your visit. We hope to see you again, perhaps in the spring or summer when flight operations are up an running more regularly or during one of our special events.

The Parlor of Mystery is a monthly magic show. Every month there is a different show inside the beautiful black box theatre called the South Shore Theatre Experience. Please only use this review site to rate the monthly magic shows.
The intimate parlor setting was perfect for the performance, but seats are a bit uncomfortable and sometimes it's difficult to see clearly when a tall person is in front of you.The acts were very good.

Located in Wheatley Heights, NY on five spectacular wooded acres of the Henry Kaufman Campgrounds, The Adventure Park at Long Island is the area's most exciting new attraction. The Adventure Park appeals to outdoor fun-seekers age 7 through adult and features multiple zip lines and aerial ropes challenge courses.
Everything was fantastic. Only suggestion is they need a few more staff to help with the warm up and some of the easier courses as we were held up quite a bit by some kids the weren't proficient on the equipment.

I have lived in the area for yeRs, and have frequented the park every summer , going on o picnics, BBQ's and the like. However, this year in efforts to stay healthy, I have begun walking and/or bike riding thru here on my lunch hour, since I normally sit a lot for my job.
There is nothing better to clear your head and enjoy nature. I go through the trails which are safe, although I am often with a co-worker. The birds and geese, ducks etc are plentiful and the lake is just so nice. You can rent a rowboat or paddle boat for a foster and do the lake if you wish,
Nice picnic facilities, and clean bathrooms.

A great dog park where you can walk down to the bay. There is a playground for kids, a picnic area and a hiking trail. Bathroom facilities available, and a drinking fountain for you and your dog. Large parking lot, but on weekends it can be packed.

A buddy and I are repeat customers. We return again and again because we always have a good time aboard the Capt. Whittaker. The boat is first class, the captain knows what he's doing and the mates are the best in the business. Clean, friendly, honest, knowledgeable, very helpful. Can't be beat!

Captree State Park is home to a large fishing fleet. You can charter a boat of chose a half or full day boat trip. There's a bait shop, concession stand and restaurant/bar. Restrooms are clean and well maintained. There's also a small beach for fishermen who prefer to remain on dry land.

We love Gilgo Beach!!!! I have always been a "cedar overlook beach girl". since I was a little girl, we used to frequent that beach every week several times a week. Now as a Mom of older children, my husband and I love to go to Gilgo because the walk is much shorter. Two years ago I had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance and the lifeguards on duty handled my emergency with urgency and professionalism - traits you would want to see when in need.....thank you to all of them....
Gilgo Beach rocks!!
