This is a great place to visit. First you visit the Lake Murray Nature Center, and the Tucker Tower is behind it. Make sure and put in the Tucker Tower into your GPS or you will end up in the middle of the state park among the trees. The Lake Murray Nature Center has some neat little displays about the history of the area and conservation. It also has a pretty observation deck that is great for pictures. It is also free. The Tucker Tower is a gem if anything for the views. It is a hard climb though. It is definitely not for those who are not up for difficult terrain and steep climbs. It has several floors of displays about the building of the tower, but the real treat is the view from the top. It is five floors up with the last floor being a winding staircase. You can see a breathtaking view of Lake Murray.
