I loved seeing all of the beautiful and functional creations of local artists. This isn't just crafty stuff, these artists know their media and use it to make unique pieces. Prices are comfortable and the quality is very high. The gallery is well situated in a fun and vibrant small town close to Raleigh, NC. I had a great time in all kinds of shops and restaurants with great local scenery and history.

Unlock a good time! Whole Brain Escape is a local escape room business based in the heart of Apex, NC. It's a great team-based activity for family, friends, or co-workers. We are a husband and wife team with over 35 years combined experience making video games. We took our love of games and puzzles and translated them into a real-life adventure game. My husband is an experienced video game designer and writer who creates all the room designs and props. We created Whole Brain Escape to be a place where people can come together, put down their screens, and unlock a good time. Choose from four adventures - Bustin' Out of the Eighties, Escape the Supervillain's Lair, or Seekers of the Mystic Orb, and Mystery of the Mad Scientist.

This region is a popular source of outdoor recreation for boating, fishing, hiking and windsurfing, plus being one of the largest summer homes of the American Bald Eagle.
It was cold when we're there so we just drive around part of it (it's a huge lake!) after visiting the visitor's center. That was a really interesting center. There were boaters out in the lake...I suspect they were fishing.

This is a paved trail. It covers over 20 miles between Apex and Durham. It was how they transported tobacco leaves to markets. It's a lively peaceful walk and you can do any part of it.
