Rock Hunting in the Big Bend of Texas with Teri Smith

Spend a day with Teri you’ll be rewarded in so many ways. Not only does she give you an excellent overview before going into the field; she also will spend extra time to help you get situated and will help identify your finds. We decided to go on two trips with her (Needle Peak and South Larremore Ranch). Both are very different terrain and offer different finds. Being a rock hound, I jumped at the chance to check out both of these private lands. Our three year old daughter, who also loves rocks in general, had a great time as well. Teri went out of her way to make sure she had fun and found some great treasures. If you want to add a different kind of excursion to your Big Bend trip, definitely check out Teri’s website to see when her next trip will take place.

Catchlight Gallery

Tired of visiting towns and only finding 'made in China' items? Alpine has unusual artists and crafts people who make and sell fine items in this gallery. I only buy my jewelry from here as I love one of a kind pieces and this gallery has it all from beautiful artwork to hang on your walls to one of a kind things to wear or use around the house - like handcrafted and signed mugs, plates etc. The artists who work the gallery are also very personable and knowledgable about what is in the gallery and also about what is in and around town. Stop in and visit, you will be delighted at what you find here.
