A national forest offering a wealth of outdoor activities.
The Chattahoochee National Forest covers 18 North Georgia counties and includes over 2,200 miles of rivers and streams. There are over 450 miles of hiking trails that range from easy to extremely strenuous so choose the one best suited for you. The beginning of the 2,174-mile Appalachian Trail is located here. There are also numerous waterfalls you can hike to and enjoy. My brother & I recently visited. We hiked Desota Falls, Panther Creek, Raven Falls, & Brasstown Bald. We had a great time and can’t wait to return. Just driving through this beautiful area will provide you with some of the most spectacular views in the country. Highly recommend!

We loved this place but make sure to go in the AM or early evening to avoid the people if you are socially distancing. We had such a great time. Be prepared to hike about .5 mile to the slide rock...up hill. Worth it!

Love Blue Ridge Honey Company, the products and the staff. Informative, friendly, professional. Volunteers information about bee keeping that most commercial bee keepers wont show. Very well respected within bee keeping communities nation wide.

Wow! What a great State Park! Admission was only $5 per vehicle with multiple hiking trail options for people of all fitness levels as well as other amenities. Loved hiking down to the Hurricane Falls overlook and hiking the north and south rim trails and crossing the very cool suspension bridge. Most hikes involve lots of climbing and descending hundreds of stairs, but the entire stair system is very well constructed with multiple resting spots/benches, shaded pavilions, and free water bottle refill stations. Overlooks are gorgeous and trails are well-maintained. The views of the gorge and rapids/falls were all stunning. It can be very hot during mid-day during the summer but it is well worth a visit.

We rented a cabin here for a weekend getaway during the covid 19 thing. The gift shop was closed and I felt the park did a nice job of limiting the amount of peeps in the park. Our cabin was outfitted very nicely and the wifi was good and we even brought along our small dog $30 for that if I remember correctly. The lake is small and you can kayak but no motor boats. We had no luck fishing there but could see several fish. The hiking trails are awesome and we enjoyed 2 of the trails with our 7 & 9 year old boys. We wanted to visit foxfire but it was closed due to the virus. The views at the giftshop are awesome and I highly recommend this park.

Open seasonally, March through November. Catch rainbow trout from stocked ponds in a beautiful mountain setting. No license required. Bring your equipment or rent ours. Hiking and gem mining available. Stay in our rustic cabins on the stream for a weekend getaway. Rock hop & splash in the creek or take a dip in the swimming hole. Family owned and operated since 1965. Great place for family fun and adventures!

One of the best small, working museums for mountain life and lore. This project that started in the 90s with high school studnets, has created a wonderful, realistic setting for life in the mountains bu the early pioneers. The preservation of the cabins and buildings is truly amazing. If you come to the GA mountwins, this is a must to grasp the challenges the settlers faced. It is all outdoors and good, comfortable shoes, suitable for light hiking are a must. If it is warm, bring a bottle of water. Takes about 1 1/2 hours

We stopped by Hillside Country Farms after an unpleasant customer service experience at nearby Blue Ridge Honey. Hillside Country Farms was open for business and warmly greeted us. They have an expansive selection of jellies, jams, preserves, honey, sauces, etc... to choose from. Our biggest problem was deciding how to limit our purchases to a reasonable quantity and variety. The Hillside staff was very friendly and answered all of our questions. Good experience.
