An arts and craft market held at an outdoor park venue. These markets are held each first and third Saturday from Mid-October through March annually. Generally, there will be 20+ vendors selling a variety of items. There is a beer garden with cocktails available. Along with several local restaurants offering food choices. Covid Related Information: As of October 2020 Local City Required Protocols include mandatory face masks for all visitors and vendors. Social distancing for booths and for visitors. Please respect these requirements for visiting the market.
Mermaid's Market is one of my FAVORITE things to do in Rocky Point. October - April each year beginning the 3rd weekend in October and the 1st and 3rd Saturdays after that. Artists, music, food, beer, people watching, Mermaid Margaritas and Bloody Marias. The outdoor Market in the Shrimp Park in town is unique and always fun. The Season Finale the 3rd week of April is nothing less than SPECTACULAR.....Pirates and Mermaids. Lots of costumes and contests.

We took the kids on this excursion and we all had a marvelous time. The sea lion was a great experience for them and kayaking by sea lions was a once in a lifetime treat. Kids were also able to snorkle and it was all in all a great day! Definitely recommend it.

The visitors center is nice. There is an 18 minute movie in english you can ask for. There are two short informative hikes that have signage in spanish and english. The road to the craters is permanently closed due to a local township wanting a fee for passage so they made a new road further north. You still have to check in at the biological center where the old road starts, 23 Km north of the visitors center. There you will pay an additional fee and be given instructions and a map. All in spanish. The new road is at Km 51 west out of Sonoyta, about 125 Km. A bit of an inconvenience but we wanted to see the craters and we had packed a lunch and had plenty to drink. The entrance is not marked but it is next to a structure being built, probably a new entrance office. From there it is pretty straight forward. High clearance vehicles are a must. The camping area is pretty spartan. It has a couple of tables with fire rings. The desert was in full bloom and was breath taking.

We love coming down to the Malecon in the Old Port and seeing all the vendors shops, the Mexican ceramics are amazing, the fish market has fresh caught shrimp and fish at low prices, and trying out all the various restaurants and bars is fun too! There is something for everyone to see and experience...try it out!
