Stand Up Paddle (SUP) is the fastest growing water sport in the world, and it's little wonder why. The low-impact sport encourages general fitness through strength and balance exercise, all while having fun in the water. Better yet, the leisurely sport requires no existing level of skill to be able to have a great time. At Stand Up Paddle HQ we provide lessons, Yarra tours, penguin tours, hire, core fitness classes, equipment sales and advice. We have boards and paddles to match your skill level and instructors who are passionate about SUP and excited to help you learn and master the sport. We operate from two great locations, St Kilda beach (Pier Road), and the boatsheds on Melbourne's Yarra River. All locations are perfect places to learn SUP in a safe, fun and protected environment. At St Kilda you can unwind and enjoy the tranquility paddling amongst the yachts and the sea life including some of St Kilda's 1000 penguins. On the Yarra you can enjoy the panoramic view of Melbourne's best known tourist sites including the MCG, Eureka Tower and Polywoodside, all from a unique location on the water.

Visited on a Sunday so there was a waterfront market and the bonus of a Triathlon. Lovely place to visit and the extra of seeing for free the fairy penguins at the end of the pier, Lovely clean area easily accessed by tram from Melbourne, sea breezes and good cafes on Acland Road.

Underrated and sometimes forgotten when visiting St.Kilda beach, but worth coming if you’re nearby if you want some quiet space. As you can see it’s pretty well lit up during night. Plenty of benches, there’s a public toilet, some drinking fountain, a lovely rotunda in the middle and its very well maintained. Nice place to chill or have a picnic.

We went there as requested by my daughter who loves photography. We had our dinner and arrived there by 7 pm, she wanted to take sun set, it was beautiful there with coastal walk. Local people enjoyed jogging or riding on bike, very pleasant. Keeping walking out to the pier, you will find the old supporting log remaining there became a sculpture point. Taking photos, enjoy the walk and good family time together.

Providing panoramic views of the Melbourne skyline and Port Phillip Bay, the pier is a popular destination for strolling, cycling, in-line skating and fishing. St Kilda's Little Penguin colony is well-known for making the breakwater its home, and is a popular tourist attraction. You can view the Little Penguins from the viewing platform at St Kilda Pier or by charter boat. I seriously don't bother going to Phillip Island anymore the fairy penguins are right here! It can depend on the night as to how many there are but we have been lucky on most occasions that we have been. There is also a great view of the city from the pier, a great photo opportunity beckons.

Inteernational viewers will see the Albert Park Lake as the backdrop to the F1 Australian Grand Prix. The street track does a circuit of the lake.

We happened to visit St Kilda on a quiet Sunday afternoon and strolled into this beautiful community garden when families were gathering on the lawn and picnicking. Soon we realized they were preparing for a concert. We bought a glass of wine from the organizers and nestled into a delightful few hours of people-watching and entertainment that felt like a very authentic way to experience an evening with locals.
