Lefkada's name means "white," from the famous white cliffs of Cape Lefkata, site of an ancient temple of Apollo, where rumor has it that the celebrated Lesbian poet Sappho flung herself from the rocks. To stay with the mythology theme, don’t miss a boat tour on the mighty Odysseia, a colorful replica of a Greek war ship. You can also explore deserted monasteries in the mountains, splash around under the Nidri waterfalls and swim at some of Greece's most famous and beautiful beaches.

Picture perfect beach in Lefkada. High cliffs and clear blue water makes a perfect getaway. Make sure you come early in high season as parking lots aren’t very spacious. Windy road to get there but not too difficult to reach it.

We visited Kavalikefta+Megali Petra in afternoon hours in July. I immediatelly regreted, that we have not spent whole day for Kavalikefta and Megali Petra, because for me, they are one of most amazing beaches on Lefkada. This big rocks lying arround, some of them as big as small house, are relly something special, that you can not see on other beaches. Even the road downhill to the beaches, is one of the curviest and is nice experience by itself. Parking is a bit problem as on most beaches with steep background but anyway this two beaches sre definetly worth visiting.

Been 4 times in Lefkada for Vacation, first time have the pleasure to relax on Ammoussa beach. There is parking available, coffee and restaurant. Prices are totally affordable narrowing to cheap. 2 sun beds+umbrella+little table costs 5 euro. Recommend to visit it either in the beginning or in the end of the season. Otherwise it gets crowded. Easily this beach became one of my favorite in Lefkada island.

Agiofili beach is spectacular + great for snorkeling. Seen alot of big fish and small. There were moments that in front of me alot of fish, great experience. Who likes to dive from high cliffs there is a cliff where to jump from (the photo uploaded) This beach (in my opinion) is best reached with ferry from Vasiliki Port, its hassle free... They say you can walk it but I didnt experience that so cant tell if its easy or hard. Ferry is € 7 per person, with return to Vasiliki Port and will operate every hour. Enjoy :)
