Lahaina, the former Hawaiian capital, was the center of the global whaling trade, and its Historic District is a National Historic Landmark. Traditional Hawaiian luaus, surf lessons and tours on horseback are fun, but let’s be realistic—you wouldn’t be in Hawaii if you didn’t want to go to the beach. Try Ka’anapali Beach, one of Maui’s best.

Maui Surfer Girls offers the best surf lessons and surf camps on Maui. Our surf school caters to small groups, families and newlyweds, with small class sizes and professional instructors (most of whom are female!) We started in 2001 with our summer surf camps for teenage girls, with a mission to build self-confidence through the sport of surfing. We quickly branched out to offer year-round surf lesson to men and women, and kids starting at age 5! Our teen camps have grown to be extremely popular, and we offer our women's camps quarterly. We look forward to sharing the spirit of aloha with you on Maui’s warm waves.

We make it to this lovely church at least once during our annual visit to Kaanapali. It's welcoming, comfortable and inspiring. The Tongan choir is great.

We were fortunate to have a priest visiting from Oahu that gave a very enjoyable homily with stories, parables, and humor. At the 5:30 p.m. mass, we heard a terrific choir who even sang the psalm verses in harmony as well as Hawaiian language in some songs. I counted about 10 singers. They sang a cappella with a conductor in front. They sang with such bravado and forte volume that you would think that there were 30 singers. No AC so dress accordingly.

We had such a great time at Maui animal farm! We took my granddaughter, who is 2 this month and it was perfect. The owner, Heidi was so welcoming, kind and such a good soul. It is an actual farm, up a dirt road overlooking the beautiful Ocean. This is a perfect outing for kids and parents, especially younger kiddos. We got to meet her newest addition first, a baby goat!! He was so stinking cute, playful and affectionate! He loved the 2 toddlers that were a part of our group. She introduced us to the whole farm :) :) Including some horses, mini horses, a donkey, some big old piggies, ducks and geese, all her bunnies and chickens, a whole herd of great goats, giant (and I mean giant) tortoises, turkeys...the list goes on. And all of them with the best names! Every one of her pets is very loved and you can tell how much she cares for them just by the way she introduces everyone and she has a great story about how the animals have come to be there. Such a wonderful experience and so worth spending our afternoon there, for all the memories, photos and the good time the baby had! If you decide to judge this place on the few negative comments on this page, then you and your little ones are missing out on a great experience. Its a real working farm, Heidi is a hardworking farm owner, and she does it all on her own. Yes, her farm is up a dirt road, and boy was it bumpy, haha! But so worth it. BTW, our little girl came home so dirty and tired and so so happy! :) One outfit down the drain, a ton of memories to take its place! We will definitely be back on our next trip. I cannot say enough about how awesome the owner was! She read the girls stories and provided treats for the kids to feed the animals, as well as fruit treats and nice cold drinks for the kids. Everything was safe, masks were worn, sanitizer was available and everyone was asked to use it between petting and feedings. The owner was also very understanding of the fact that we were almost 15 minutes late! Sorry, Heidi. Make sure that when you put the farm in your GPS, you actually put the physical address and don't just ask Google to take you there.

Coconut Farm Tasting Tour! Come Experience the sights and tastes of an authentic, working coconut farm. Learn the vast usefulness of the coconut tree and how to extract its bounty. Participate in all the stages of coconut cultivation and consumption, all while basking in the natural beauty of our farm. Take home fresh, hand-made coconut products from a truly authentic experience.
Located in Lahaina this coconut farm tour was an awesome way to learn about the life of a coconut and explore more of Maui. Our experience started with fresh coconut milk cold brew coffees and from there we walked the farm and eventually settled in to learn more about coconut life stages. Our guide, Kai, cracked open juvenile coconuts so we could drink fresh coconut water and enjoy the coconut meat before moving on to mature coconuts, highlighting the differences between the two. We learned the process of making coconut milk and also tried mature coconut meat. We had the chance to walk the grounds and were able to enjoy all the coconuts our hearts (and stomachs) desired. They did a wonderful job of following safety protocols with Covid and the small group tour made it intimate and amazing! They also have a very cute gift shop and once the café fully opens will be the perfect spot to enjoy fresh coconut themed snacks and beverages among sweeping views of the ocean and the iconic coconut palms. If you are considering an awesome local experience on the island book this tour ASAP! We can't wait to take our friends.

One of the best beaches in Maui, a favorite for relaxation as well as water sports.
Sunshine kissed, cool trade breezes, water sports galore and stunning beaches, what more could you ask for.... wait, it’s there too, a short walk to whalers village gets you shopping, dining and more. P.S. Macy’s in the Hyatt is perfect for resort wear and things forgotten for a trip.

These humongous trees take up a whole city block, so amazing to look at these works of art as trees go! Definitely check out, all over the many islands of Hawaii.

A friend and I rented snorkels and waded into the water to see what was around. There's a small natural reef about 30-50 yards in, and tons of marine life living on it -- brain coral, sea turtles, moorish idol fish, convict tang, needlefish, ornate wrasse, and more. This was the best snorkel experience I have had, and beat a lot of scuba dives that I have been on in terms of wildlife! If you stay on the shore side of the reef, there's barely any current. If you go beyond it, it's still not bad for experienced swimmers.

I'm not really a church goer, but was on a long walk and saw the door to this small church was open. It was a cool peaceful haven from some of the overdevelopment of Lahaina. The original paintings inside and the stained glass is charming. Absolutely lovely.

We walked here from Honua Kai resort. There appears to be a good deal of parking. Nice open grass area, restrooms, wide sandy beach with sand entry. The reef starts about 30 feet from shore and is well preserved and well populated with fish. Several turtles to be seen under the water on the reef. Water depth at reef ranges from 8 feet to 25 feet with an average of about 15 feet. Trees border the beach and provide some shade. Outdoor shower with good water pressure to rinse off afterwards. Busy but not overcrowded.
