Indaiatuba is a municipality in the state of São Paulo in Brazil. It is part of the Metropolitan Region of Campinas. The population is 235,367 (2016 est.) in an area of 311.55 km². The elevation is 624 m. The city's name derives from the Tupi language. It is an important city in one of Brazil's main industrial regions.

Mosteiro de Itaici

A atual área do Mosteiro de Itaici é parte da antiga Fazenda Taipas, que pertenceu no século XIX a João Tibiriçá, Presidente da província de São Paulo (equivalente hoje ao governador do estado). Sendo este, ardoroso republicano, pode-se supor que no casarão da antiga fazenda (hoje chamada Vila Manresa), tenha havido reuniões e conchavos arquitetando a Proclamação da República. Em 1950 os Jesuítas deram outro destino à fazenda, transformando seu casarão em sede do noviciado, 1a. etapa da formação dos vocacionados à vida religiosa na Companhia de Jesus. No ano seguinte, foi iniciada a construção do atual prédio do Mosteiro de Itaici, inaugurado ainda incompleto, no dia 26 de abril de 1955. (fonte: Arquivo Mosteiro de Itaici)
